Anyone experience these symptoms?
Lately, I've had this heavy feeling in my chest/upper abdomen,.. sometimes when I'm laying down I get this heavy pressure feeling in my head and once in a while this irregular/hard heart beat... do you think something's wrong? I mostly only get it when I'm laying down... maybe I'm cutting off oxygen or my blood pressure is rising? I'm going to the dr for the growth sono on friday and am gonna ask... but wondering if this is normal?

Re: Anyone experience these symptoms?
I haven't experienced a heavy feeling but there are times when I'm laying down that I feel like I can't breathe as well. I have experienced a change in heartbeat but it just feels like it speeds up when I'm laying in certain positions. Are you laying on your back when you feel this way? It could be you need to lay on your side. When I lay on my side, I usually feel better. I would call your doctor just to be sure.

Re: Anyone experience these symptoms?
Try putting a pillow under your knees. When I watch tv in bed, I do this and it allows me to lay on my back.

Re: Anyone experience these symptoms?
Laying on your back isnt recommended in the 3rd trimester (I dont know how far along you are though) because your aorta runs along your back so when you are lying down it puts pressure on it. It's mainly towards the end because that is when people put the most weight on. That is the main reason they suggest lying and sleeping on your side. I use to wake up on my back and then it got to the point where I wasnt comfortable and the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy I was sleeping in the upright postion (like a hospital bed) and it was the most comfortable.

Re: Anyone experience these symptoms?
yes, I get the same thing when I lay on my back.
If I turn to the left side it usually goes away quickly.
Your putting too much pressure on your main arteries when your on your back.

I get the same thing - feels like my airway is restricted. I find if I roll on my side or a few minutes it stops.

I get this if I lay flat on my back as opposed to a side. Its the babies on top of everything my doc said.

Yea, I get that as well when I lie on my back...I feel like I can't breathe & I can hear/feel my heartbeat fast. I usually put a pillow under my legs or raise my head or else change position.
