ABSOLUTELY, I need to have everything ready. I like choosing a name so I can use it when I talk to them in my belly. I also am a big bargain shopper, I've seen such cute things on sale but haven't bought anything yet since we don't know yet. Plus, I am not good with surprises.

We found out for both pg's. We are type A def planner personality's and we both hate surprises.

For our own sanity we needed to know. Seeing what they look like at birth is enough of a surprise and present for us.

I want to be suprised but DH and DD want to know. Our appt is on 3/22, and we havent agreed on anything yet. we'll see. I hope the baby doesnt cooperate in that area so we arent able to find out and it saves the arguement.

We didn't find out for our DD, and DH loved being able to announce it to everyone who was waiting. Unfortunately for me I had a complicated c/s and the moment they said it was a girl I was so medicated and hallucinating, that the moment was really not special to me. So with #2 I am planning to find out the sex, however DH still does not want to know, so it will be my secret to keep for months!

We never thought about not finding out the sex....DH and I are both planners. Plus, knowing it is a girl has made us become so much more bonded to her (we refer to her by name, etc.)...I highly recommend it.

Yes - we wanted to find out the sex. The biggest reason was that we (especially dh) felt that it would enhance the bonding experience. Just our personal feelings - I understand that parents have great bonding experiences without knowing the sex but we felt strongly about that. I also wanted to be able to set up the baby's room and purchase clothing that was gender specific. Also made registering easier for me. I have only a few weeks after the deliver before I go back to work and no desire to do any exchanging or purchasing at that time unless absolutely necessary.

No, I want it to be a big surprise, and I like the old school idea of everyone finding out when it is born. We also did not want to get our hearts set on a sex and have it be a mistake--too many occurrences of that. But most of all we just want to be old school.

With all the cute girl and boy stuff I do get finding out, but there is a lot of cute neutral gear, plus I'll get to go shopping for clothes after the baby is born.

Absolutely not! For us, we feel that this is a once in a lifetime surprise and it's just so exciting to us to not know and to have that moment when I deliver to find out... priceless!!

Plus, we think it's hilarious to listen to everyone's opinions about what I am having based on my size, how I'm carrying, how I've changed, what I'm eating.... it's such a fun game and I don't want it to end... until s/he comes out!!
