Homeowners Insurance

I just called Statefarm and I feel like their quote was really high. Can someone give me some insight to how much is considered good rate for HO? And what should the basic policy include?

TIA

Where is the home located? Near the water? Nassau or Suffolk?

Re: Homeowners Insurance

Your premium may be high because you're South of Sunrise.Chat Icon I'm not sure though. You may want to ask the agent if that's the case. Also, FM Smileyd17, she works for State Farm. She could probably help you get the best coverage for your money. I believe she's helped several on here.

I went with Hanover. I'm located in Suffolk, which has been hard to write - thankfully I'm located in the middle of the Island. Many companies are only writing LI on a case by case basis - and if they get the entire acct - including umbrella.

Re: Homeowners Insurance

make sure you are giving them the value of the house, not the value of the house and land together. (if i had my appraisal I could look it up).

I just looked on my appraisal report. Is the value of the house labeled, "opinion of site value"?
