The result of my Cornell consult is

another, no explanationChat Icon

Basically we are still sticking with the diagnosis of male factor.

I asked about immune testing and he said this is only an issue with people with pregnancy loss, which I dont have

I asked about low estrogen and he said well, we can put you on it, it cant hurt

I asked about my allergies and bacterias I have had... he said its unrelated.

He said my biopsy was fine but that doesnt matter anyway since with IVF they monitor you.

He said I shouldnt even bother with another HSG since my last one was fine its not going to change.

He did suggest that DH see a urologist that specializes in reproductive medicine.

He also suggested ways to tweak my protocol and thinks that NSUH actually waited too long to trigger me. He thinks I will have better fert rates if they trigger sooner.

He also suggested that they do co-culture (NSUH bills me for this so I'll have to ask what it is exactly they do)

So basically he is recommending IVFChat Icon says I have about a 60% chance based on their statsChat Icon I had a 50% chance at NSUH and have had 4 failed attempts. That math doesnt work out.

So..... he was nice, made a few suggestions, but didnt offer me too much more than I already know.....

He told me I should call to schedule my cycle, but I think I will do my FET first.

Thanks for all the good wishes girlsChat Icon

Re: The result of my Cornell consult is

Thanks. It is a bit disappointing. I really wanted them to tell me NSUH missed something major or did things completely wrong. BUt he didnt--- Even the changes he suggested dont have anything to do with failed implantation.

I dont want to have anything be wrong, but I would love to have something to fix!

Ok-I think maybe I am more upset about this than I thoughtChat Icon

Re: The result of my Cornell consult is

I can only reiterate what everyone else has said - I'm so sorry you haven't gotten more definitive answers.

Is there someone else you can see? Or maybe some alternative type of therapy?

Therapy for what, according to everyone I have no problem. So short of finding a new husband I am SOL.

I hope that didnt sound rude, it wasnt meant to be.

I will probably go elsewhere for another consult but I need to recooperate from this a bit. I can not handle another session without answers and just great stats based on my age.

Re: The result of my Cornell consult is

Aww Pauline, I guess you hoped you might come away with something more definative.

Why did he think NSUH triggered you too late? What led him to that conclusion and why did he think that would have an effect? Sorry to pry I'm just interested.

It's deeply frustrating to not get an explanation. So what is your next step? FET at NSUH?

I wish you luck & am sending you lots of love & Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: The result of my Cornell consult is

Yes, Cornell triggers earlier than most...they believe when the eggs are more mature they don't fertilize as well...

And as for co-culture, I think they are the only ones that do it with your own lining....I have definitely had great embryos using that, but of course, no baby...

I'm sorry you didn't get more answers Pauline, but hopefully it's as simple as that!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

LIke Lisa said, they believe in triggering sooner. I told him NSUH brought me longer because the first time I had such a poor fert rate, but he thinks that is because I was not on enough meds that time.

What he did say that I appreciated was that every clinic does things different, and the only one that does things the best is the one that gets you PG.
