Who does one call to condemn a shed?
We have a shed in our backyard that came with the house and it's a piece of crapola, although I'm sure it was really cute 20 years ago.  We need to hire someone to take a chainsaw to it and cart it away. Any suggestions?

Better make sure you don't need a permit to remove it. Are you replacing it with another structure?

Seriously, though... do people need permits to remove a piece of crap from their property?

Knock it down and break the pieces down as small as possible. Or look in the Pennysaver/Yankee Trader to find a person to do it for you. I don't think you need a permit to remove, just rebuild.

DH pulled ours down with some friends. It is now in pieces (large sides) in our backyard until we can get a dumpster for the rest of the work on the house.
It didn't have a CO to begin with, so I can't imagine a permit would be necessary.

Depends on the town. Our town does require a permit (not that we got one, but we also demolished the shed ourselves and built another structure.)
ETA: ours was shown as a structure on our property assesment. If it's not shown on there and the town isn't aware of it in the first place, than it's not an issue.

We don't need a permit with a shed but it depends on the size, if it has electricity, etc.
If the previous owners had a permit, you may have to contact your town.

I don't know Kathi, but I have this eyesore of a shed in my yard that I want down and DH thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread. 
Anyway, if it came down, let's say by accident , I'll pay to have yours down too

Leave your gate unlocked. If you hear loud noises from the backyard, ignore it. Assume it's the wind.

Or try that company "1-800-got Junk"
I think they take down sheds & take them away.

OMG, Craig's list? Who would have thunk. Kelly, it's SUCH a piece of crap, I'd be  if someone actually came here for it.
I've seen those "Got Junk" trucks around. I thought it was for something else. Great ideas, thanks!!
