All are cute, but I voted for Carter James, just because I like the way it sounds.

i voted carter matthew. only for personal preferences...the name james has a poor connotation with me lately, that shouldn't sway you though.
but out of the 4, the carter names i like more.

I like either Carter.
If you pick Carter James will you call him CJ or want others to? Just something to consider.
As a high school teacher, I've never had a Carter in class and only one Trevor. They are both unique names. He won't get lost in the crowd
