Should I call the Dr? Update!
Yesterday I had my 2nd try at my ultrascreen (which wasnt so successful!).
Anyway, the tech tried really hard to get my baby in position- but nothing worked- and she was pushing the little probe thing really really hard into my belly. My entire belly is sooo sore- it hurts to walk, go up and down the stairs, and when I sit for a while- forget about it- the pain is really bad. I took some tylenol last night- but the pain is just as bad today.
Do you think I should call the dr? I'm just worried that all this pain in the area where the baby is, isnt good for it. What do you guys think?
Update: So I call the Dr's office and the nice receptionist (those who go to Dr H know who I mean) answers and I told her about the situation- and she goes "I've NEVER heard of that before!" So she puts me on hold and Dr H picks up- and I explain the situation to her- and she said she's never heard of this either, and its not normal- and is perplexed. She doesnt think the baby is in any harm, but she asks me if I want to go to the ER- and I dont really want to go. So, she says just to relax- and I can take some tylenol- and if the pain stays thru the weekend to give her a call and she'll fit me so I can see her. Oye.

You have no idea! You should have seen how she was ramming it on my belly! She was actually like standing up pushing down so hard!!

I would call if for no other reason to let the Dr. know how uncomfortable their practices were during your u/s.
Feel better

Re: Should I call the Dr?
I was REALLY sore after the 12 week sono. The Tech kept pushing down so hard I was kinda freaking out after, too. The baby is well padded in there, but your skin is probably just bruised. If it's really bad, you could call the Dr to make sure. For me, it took at least a few days for most of the pain to go away. Feel better

Thanks for making me feel better, Denise. I'm glad I"m not the only one who was sore after a sono.

Awww thats terrible that they hurt you but I am sure they wouldnt do anything too hard to hurt the baby. But again, I will always stick to the story that you should call the doctor anytime you want.

Re: Should I call the Dr?
I did not have the U/S so I don't know if this is common, but if so then maybe they should warn you first. I know during my level II the tech had to "shake" my belly around to try & get the kid to cooperate. I was not really fond of that practice either, but after I asked the Dr about it at my visit (which happened to be the next day) she said it happens all the time & there was nothing to worry about. I told her she should have warned me...she knows how paranoid I am

Yeah, they were shaking my belly too- I was like ***- leave the kid alone! hahahahahaha
On a brighter side- the baby was moving its hand back and forth looking like it was waving- and the sono tech was like "dont wave at us- we're all mad at you"---- hahahahahahaha

Re: Should I call the Dr?
i just had mine done as well - first pics were taken by the tech and then the dr. when the tech left i told my husband- that hurt! she was pressing down so hard! when the dr. did it he was so much more gentle! then again, the baby was moving around alot more with the tech and getting into the right position so maybe that is why she was being so agressive? But, anyway, i could imagine if the whole ultrascreen was done by her i would be sore today! hope this helps

I agree. My little rat [i mean, angel] wouldn't turn either...she jiggled my belly with her hands but she didn't apply additional pressure with the wand at all. It wasn't uncomfortable and didn't cause any soreness.

Awww Liz, you should call. My tech was a lot harder than I thought was possible. I thought DH was going to faint. But I didn't hurt the next day, so I would definately call.

They didnt try an internal sono- for whatever reason, I'm not sure- since my Dr told me that was the best way to see the baby since there is less "matter" to look thru.

The thing is- it didnt hurt until the very end- and even then it wasnt really pain- more just pressure because I think my bladder was gettin full.

The only thing that I can think of is other than pain relief they can do a sono to check everything out. Can she maybe write you a script to go to Zwanger or something if you are nervous?
I cannot believe that!
