Level II at Madonna prenatal

Did you have to do anything before getting the sono?

NO WAY! It was on my prescription from my OB. I don't remember if they reminded me or not.

Re: Level II at Madonna prenatal

I found the number. They told me I did not need to do anything.

I hope she is right.

Now... should I drink water JUST IN CASE?

I called and asked them if I had to drink cause I was SO uncomfortable at my Ultrascreen and they told me Nope, no drinking water before.

hmmm I wonder why it was on my script. I say don't let yourself get dehydrated, but if they are not requiring it don't stress it. I had to get up in the middle of the test to pee, so I would have rather not have had all that water right before the test.

It was on my script too. It said to drink 32 oz's. But I heard soo many girls on here say that they didnt, I decided to call.

I did drink something though cause like you said, dehydration is not good. The baby will not be cooperative.

Re: Level II at Madonna prenatal

my level II was broken into two seperate weeks/visits. the first one, which was 2 1/2 hours long, the tech made me pee before we started and halfway through. the second one, the tech told me not to pee at first, but then told me to halfway through, because she decided to do an internal to finish.

Re: Level II at Madonna prenatal

They tell you to drink because a full bladder vs. an empty bladder apparently makes them be able to see more. I had two and two different offices and both they told me to drink for.

I had mine at Madonna and they told me I didn't have to drink extra water. Actually, on the way to the room she asked me if I needed to use the bathroom to be more comfortable.

Re: Level II at Madonna prenatal

madonna perinatal never gave me special instructions also. i wonder why there's a bit of difference between madonna and other places.. i could understand drinking water prior to the sono, tho. it somehow makes it easier for them to view your baby.

I was not told to do anything aside from showing up. I still had to empty my bladder when the baby refused to move, not that doing so made my stubborn child flinch!Chat Icon

Re: Level II at Madonna prenatal

It was on the prescription but when I called up to make the appt. I asked about it - and they said it wasn't necessary to drink the water. I had just a bottle of water on the way (8 oz) and was going to pee in my pants - but I forgot about it - once I saw the little peanut! Chat Icon

And - the tech told me I could go to the bathroom if I needed to!

Re: Level II at Madonna prenatal

No water here either, and I had to go twice. In fact they made me empty my bladder both times so that the baby moves and they can get all measurements easily.

I even had to get up during the first one and empty again b/c with a full bladder baby cant move well and techs have a hard time getting them to move too to get measurements.

Madonna told my friend she didnt have to drink all that water either.....and when I went for my NT test on Monday, they actually made me go to the bathroom beforehand.
