It rained today....
Well, our water pipe exploded late this afternoon in the laundry room in the garage with water spraying everywhere from the pipe..yes, like in the movies!
I got a very cold soaking shower trying to try to turn the valve off (unsuccessfully!) while DH trying to find the water shut off in the house.
Since we had 3 inches of water on the floor and had electrical cords (still plugged in!!) you should have seen my acrobatic moves to climb everything to access the water valve in the laundry. To top that the space heater still plugged in with water soaking the outlet. I screamed for DH to turn the power off.
Luckily, we did not get electrocuted at the same time and the garage is so full of stuff that I did not have to walk on the ground. I had to rush back inside the house, I started to shiver, I was freezing.
We found a plumber who disconnected washer and dryer. They brought the washer inside my kitchen (yes... what a mess!) so luckily it's not totally destroyed. The hose of the washer also exploded. We did not even use it.
Oh well.... another adventure in my house.

All the drywall in the laundry room is soaking wet. Dryer is totally wet and unuseable. We still don't know if the washer will work.
I think the plumber is going to bring it upstairs and run a water line there so our laundry will be upstairs. That will be cheaper than having to clean the whole garage and insulate it. While this is a good idea in the future, this is not on the plan for now.
