No Privacy for me! VENT
On Monday I went to my doctor's appointment and Dh was meeting me there. I saw a friend's husband in the lobby and he was very curious why I was there. I told him I just had a regular doctor's appt. (He was meeting his wife for a sonogram too). Well this friend has been calling my best friend all week to find out if I am pg, just because I was spotted there! Dh and I are not ready to go public.
Then apparently on our way out of the appointment Dh and I were "spotted" holding hands, carrying the baby bag of goodies the doctor's gave us by one of my co-workers.
So, I got cornered at work and basically told that I was spotted and that "you can't keep a secret" on long island. I totally do NOT want my job knowing this early on. Why can't people wait until I am ready to tell. I was so upset...I just fear something might go wrong and I don't need everyone knowing my business!
I know being pg is exciting news, and I can't wait to share it. But why can't people just respect my right to keep quiet for now?
Sorry...vent over!

How iritating. Even if I saw you and assumed you were preg I wouldn't say anything!!! People are so nosey. My neighbor overhead my mother as me how I felt while I was sitting on MY porch. The next day she asked my DH is I was pregnant!

That's how I feel. A real friend would just wait until I was ready, instead of putting me on the spot, and putting my best friend on the spot too!

Re: No Privacy for me! VENT
I think it's very rude to ask people or their friend if someone is PG.
I just don't understand why people are so impatient. Obviously you will announce it when YOU are ready. Why trying to take it away from someone's joy to announce it.
It happened to me at work. Someone asked me and I told her I ate a lot of beans and had gas. Or I asked people who asked why I did not say anything at 10 wks.... "well, how do you want me to announce it, on the intercome where 1000 people can hear it?". I am not going to go desk to desk to announce it either. I figure people would eventually notice. I know it was not the response she expected but I thought it was very rude in the first place to ask.

I'm so sorry to hear about that It's frustrating and none of anyone's business ... ever... until you're good and ready to share your wonderful news. This happened to me too, at work, so I can relate. Hope you're feeling better - don't let other people meddling take away from your personal joy. Focus on you, DH and your future baby!!

People can be very rude. I remember seeing my manager in the office once, not knowing we shared the same OB. I never said a word nor did I confront her. I would just keep denying it until you are ready.
