Re: Sons Closet Help !!!
Why not take the closet organizer out and just put a toy chest inside the closet (pending on if it will fit)...I would imagine that would be the quickest way to clean up.

Re: Sons Closet Help !!!
I would put all the "characters" in a clear bin so they are together and easily accessible.
Does he uses ALL his toys? You could remove some of them and rotate them so he does not get bored.

Re: Sons Closet Help !!!
You need clear bins. Label them (especially if he is a pre-reader). This will make clean ups much easier.

Re: Sons Closet Help !!!
I put this on parenting but incase you don't see it I would do this-
This is what I was planning on doing when we do the downstairs closet off the playroom but maybe different colors instead of plain clear

I agree with the others - I would get some bins (not necessarily clear - they could be brightly colored and labeled) and organize his toys that way.

Re: Sons Closet Help !!!
How old is your son? You may want to put the things he uses most on the bottom in bins so he can learn to put them away. Like others said, coolr code if he can't read yet, or put pictures on the outside.
Anything with parts can go in a zipped bag, in the bins.
