How long until contracts are signed?

I just want to get a consensus of how long it took from the time your attorney received the contracts until you signed and received your copy of them to go for your mortgage. Our attorney received them on Monday, and she is still waiting to here back from their attorney about her changes/additions to the contracts.

It took us almost two weeks. Our attorney received original contracts on a Friday, we signed them on Tuesday with modifications, our attorney negotiated the terms with the sellers attorney and returned the contracts on Friday, the seller signed the contracts on Wednesday and we sent the executed contracts to the mortgage broker on Thursday. It was stressful, but try to be patient. Just stress to your REA that you hope the seller drafts and executes the contracts in good faith so that you do not need to worry that they are trying to sell the house at a better price.

You signed them before your additions/changes were agreed upon by the seller's and their attorney? I thought you didn't sign them until both sides had agreed on everything?

we took about a week.

yeah, we signed them also before the additons and changes were agreed upon. it saves time with the lawyers..

in most cases the changes are agreed upon so it is fine

We signed binder contract on Sunday.

Our lawyer had the contracts from the seller/seller's attny on Monday.

We met with our lawyer on Thursday and signed the contracts, but did not release them to the seller's attny until the following Wednesday (lateness due to the Xmas Holiday) to verify they would accept our changes. Once accepted, we released the checks and we were in contract.

We're waiting to get our contract back, though I think the snow held things up.

Our attorney received the contract from the seller's attorney last Wednesday, and we met with him Friday evening to go over it. We called him over the weekend with a few questions and proposed changes, and we dropped off the signed contracts on Monday morning (2/13). As of today, they have not come back to our attorney, but we're guessing they should sometime next week, which would mean 2 weeks.

Yes, we did sign before the changes were accepted. Our attorney thought they would be--we didn't ask for anything unusual or unreasonable.

We signed our contract about a week after our attorney received them for the first time. He had faxed his changes to the other attorney and then waited 3 business days to call him when he didn't hear anything back. Once he got the AOK on the proposed changes, he called us to set up our appointment. The sellers signed and returned the contract (they are in an assisted living facility) 3 days after we signed (which was yesterday). We haven't received our signed copy of the contract yet.

It took about a week. We signed on a Thursday night. Our lawyer was out on closings all day that Friday. He didn't get to speak to the seller's lawyer until Monday or Tuesday. The seller signed the contracts that Thursday. Mailed out on Monday....Wasn't rec'd until Mon or Tues.

We were quick, seller wanted to sell quick and we want in the house fast so that took less than a week.
2 days after we saw the house together we got the accepter offer and inspection, 2 days later signed the contracts. We went really fast though.
Should close in a week or two
