Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

If they were young, or it was a myserious death ..VERY MUCH SO.

If it was someone who was older/elderly and died of natral causes, then not so much.

As long as there was no smell.

no. I am sure it happens all the time. I think it would depend how it happened like from natural causes vs. murder.

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

I never really thought about that, but I guess if i knew about it then it would be a little creepy. I am however sure that it happens all the time and we just don't know about it. I wouldn't back out of the deal especially if you really like the house.

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

How does anyone know that nobody died mysteriously in their current house? I don't think it's legally required to notify the buyer about something like that....

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure every house has secrets that you may or may not want to know about.... Chat Icon

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

No, the only way it would bother me was if it was a murder or something of a mysterious way. Things happen in houses, so it would not freak me out!

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

not really .... my house is 70 years old and I'm sure its a strong possibility that over its existance someone may have passed away in it.

Agree. It's bound to happen in the majority of houses out there.

I think it's creepier when a house exists for decades and children have never lived in it. DH's first house was built in 1957, he bought it from the original owner (who was never married), he lived their with his ex-wife and they didn't have children. I know it's strange for me to feel this way but I always thought the house was jinxed or something. We sold it to another couple a year and a half ago, no kids yet for them.

I always had the feeling that it was a house that didn't see a lot of love within it's four walls.

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

No but I would want to know the cause of death. If blood was "everywhere", I would be more concern with contamination. I would have to redo all the floors/walls, etc...

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

If it was a murder yes...but if it was a peaceful death of natural causes, no.

My house was owned by the original owners. The son, wife and husband all died here of natural causes.

They have not come back to visit yet.

No, not at all. people die in houses all the time. I might be a little more skeptical if there was a murder in my house...

My house is 70 years old also and i am sure along the line someone must have died in it....

Re: Would it bother you if you found out.....

No, it wouldn't bother me at all.

My dad died at home and it wasn't sudden, but for me, it was a blessing. He died in the home he lived in for almost 30 years with his wife and where he raised his children. I think he was happy to be at home when he went.
