private doc ???
Can anyone recommend a private OBYN that also excepts Oxford in Suffolk county
NOT A large Group like suffolk obgyn, they have 12 doc at the port jeff, I have no idead who will be ther during the deilvery counld be any one of the 12. I would like to find a smaller group or signle doc So we know who will be dielvering the baby

What do you mean by Private? Not a group?
I have Oxford and go to Stonybrook Midwives, which is part of the University Associates practice. They are located in East Setauket near Target.

I see the midwives, that's who will be delivering my baby, but I've only seen one thus far. Next visit I'm seeing a different one because whoever is on call is who will deliver the baby. It probably works the same for the physicians as well.
I think the concern about seeing a doctor in a one man practice (for me at least and before I went the midwife route) was that I would be waiting in the office a very long time to be seen and if that doctor wasn't available at the time of delivery, a staff doctor I never met at the hospital would deliver the baby.

my OB is not private, i do see all the docs in the office so i do know it will be one out of the group who will be on call to deleiver my baby.
what place did you go to? i am very happy with mine .
is that your normal GYN office?

I'm in Farmingville and that's pretty far from us IMO. My previous doctor was in West Islip, and it took me 30-40 minutes to get there depending on traffic.
Where do you plan on delivering? That's another thing to keep in mind. If you see a doctor that is further away, you will have to deliver at the hospital he/she is affiliated with.
