Well, we've been reduced to sleeping on the couch...

JT and I finally had to break down last night and sleep on the pull-out couch in the livingroom. We just cannot take sharing a room with Ava anymore. She was up most of the night talking and babbling and yelling, "Mama!Mama! Dada!Dada!" And jumping up and down in her crib. She wasn't hungry, she wasn't in any pain, she had a clean diaper on, she just wanted to play. I just can't share a room with her anymore. I love her, but we're all too close for comfort and rapidly out-growing this one bedroom apartment. We're buying a place after our lease is up here, but that's not for four more months, and I don't know how we're going to survive four months on the freaking pull-out couch. However, the alternative is to sleep in the same room with her, and that's definitely NOT working anymore. I could KICK myself for staying in this sh-t box of an apartment with a baby.
Ugh, I'm sorry to be a downer, but please tell me how you deal with it if you are forced to share space with your older infant.Chat Icon

We are in the exact same boat.
We are looking for a house now.
In the meantime, we hung a sheet from the ceiling so she can't see us. It seems to help.

A friend of mine had some success hanging a sheet from the ceiling so that the baby couldn't see them...

Thanks Paulette, we actually know where we're going to be buying, it's just a matter of getting to the end of this lease.
We haven't hung a sheet, maybe I'll try that tomorrow night, for tonight, I already brought all our things out of the room adn she's sleeping. She is a really light sleeper and JT snores, so I think that is waking her. Also, it seems like everytime I roll over, she starts to fuss. Chat Icon

If the snoring or other noises are bothering her maybe consider a humidifier or air purifier for some "white noise" which may help her stay asleep. I also think putting up some sort of partition or sheet may help.Chat Icon

We are in the EXACT same boat. I did that 3 times last week for the same reason. She wants to play and cries if we leave her in the crib. Last night I fell asleep on the couch because she was crying because she wanted to play and we kept her in the crib. once she fell asleep, I went to sleep on the bed.

White noise is a life saver for us. We actually put DD to sleep w/ a cd of music, a humidifier and an air purifier. The CD lasts about an hour then turns off. I am able to do everything in the house including grinding coffee! Sometimes our house alarm goes off in the middle of the night and she doesn't make a peep. I am telling you this should do the trick. Good luck!

We were in the same boat for 4 months before moving into our current 2 bedroom.

It was worth it though. Being learned to sleep through the night after a few short, but successful CIO sessions. Can't quite pull those off when you are sleeping in the same roomChat Icon

It was totally worth it, even if extremely uncomfortable, especially because I was already pregnant and feeling like cra p!

Hang in there, you will start seeing the results soon enough!Chat Icon

You can try a fan. Just put it near her crib- but facing away from her. We have used it with our Ava since birth. The white noise blocks out all house hold noises.

Good Luck
