Homeowners Insurance in Nassau
I have started to shop around for insurance and am having a difficult time getting a quote from companies. A couple of them are no longer offering new policies in Nassau. For recent home buyers in Nassau, what insurance co. did you use? TIA.

We have Allstate which is no help to you, because they aren't offering new policies in NY. Sorry.

I know. :( Along with Travelers and Liberty Mutual. We have our auto insurance w/ Geico who deals w/ Travelers for home ins. and we were hoping that we could get a discount with that but not so.

The broker I work for does TONS of Travelers Homeowners Insurance on the Island...
Maybe they're no longer writing with Geico? I would call them direct or FM me, I'll give you the name and number of someone in Personal Lines where I work...they can help you out.
Also Smileyd17... works for State Farm. I know they're still writting too.

Really? I got a quote for Liberty Mutual (Suffolk) two weeks ago (it was much more expensive than State Farm though)

Ii'm going to call state farm today
i called liberty mutual yesterday and they are not offering many policies in ny either due to all the claims they have had..

I can let you know If I can help you. Yes, A lot of companies are not writing ho, luckily I work for one who isnt in that same position but of course we have restrictions too...ex:close to water within a certain amt of ft.
I could help and I think our rates are pretty reasonable.

Thanks everyone. Turns out that Liberty Mutual does provide insurance. I called their 800 # and they told me no. But DH got a call from an agent from LM that said they do provide coverage. Don't get it... but we got a really good quote from them. DH also got a quote from All State.
For those with Travelers, would you mind giving me your agent's contact info? I had called the 800 # and they told me they didn't cover Nassau. Hoping that the similar situation that happened w/ LM will occur w/ Travelers.
