when did you start packing?

WE are in full contract but we dont have an official date just the on or about which is jan 15- we have a lot of stuff but we also have a curious toddler- when would you start packing- ugh Im dreading this

we started packing as soon as we got our closing date....we don't have kids so it was a little easier for us....

I started packing around Thanksgiving and our closing date was the 20th of December. It is tough to pack with a toddler. I did most of the packing when he was napping or sleeping at night.

we are goign to start now- our closing is on our about jan 30.

I hired packers to come the day before. Lazy yes, but with a toddler it made life so pleasant!!

I'm closing at the end of Jan. We're starting to get boxes now, but haven't packed them up yet, but organized them!

when we closed. It's a couple months later and I'm still paking.

We didn't even have a closing date and we started packing (about a month before we closed).. we were living in a mess of boxes.. but we didn't pack everything so of course last minute we had to pack the rest in a matter of three days... it gets done no matter what.

I would start now with stuff you dont need. I would try to do a few boxes a day and then all you should have left is the stuff you use.

We started when we went to contract - started with the attic and moved our way down to things that we hardly used. It was still a nightmare

We were able to take our time moving out of our apt so we did it very slowly and I actually still have some things I need to take from there. But I recommend packing asap. I thought we didnt have alot of things so I didnt start early on and I was SO wrong! All the little things add up, especially in the kitchen! I never realized how many dishes,pots,pans and glasses I had!

The whole packing process was so annoying. But once you unpack and get to organize things the way you like in your house it's worth it

since i am moving out of my mom's house to my own, i keep bringing stuff everytime I go to my house (we are renovating first, then moving in). so it hasnt been too bad yet. I am dreading moving my clothes

We aren't closing until March because of our lease in our current apartment but I am going to start in a couple of weeks once I finish putting away the CHristmas stuff. I figure I can pack up books and non-essential stuff soon.

I think that it's never too early to start packing. You should start putting away things tht won't be missed. If you wait until the end it will be too much. Happy Packing!!! Best of Luck.

starting packing about two weeks before we moved...waited till after the wedding and HM to do it.

As soon as we go to contract we are going to seriously start packing. I have not done anything yet but Dh is starting Nassau Co Police academy and I am finishing my Master's so we both have only one day off per week and it is not even the same day. Start now a little bit and it is not overwhelming in the end!
