How liong should towels last?

DH and I have been using our towels for a year and a half. And a few of them are already fraying. Chat Icon It's just the two of us and I don't think the wear on them is extraordinary. When I was single I used the same towels for a long time and they held up well, but maybe these get more wear? I don't know- is it normal for towels to fall apart after a year and a half?

most of my towels are 3 years old or more. They are Fieldcrest 'Charisma'. I bought as many as I could at Macy's when they were discontinuing them a few yrs ago, but they are back now. I am not sure why, but I am thrilled! they're the best quality towels and I've tried many brands.

IMO, a towel should not come apart after 1 & 1/2 yrs. I would stay away from that brand in the future.

My towels last longer than that, but I think it depends on whether or not you use bleach and how much you use. DH uses more bleach than I do and since I moved in with him, I do notice more wear and tear on the towels.

I love my Ralph Lauren towels too. I registered for them for my bridal shower 7 years ago and they still look and feel new. I swear by them....They are pretty expensive but sometimes Macys runs sales and Century 21 also has them at their stores.

good to know. I bought 2 RL towels at TJ Maxx a few months ago and like them. they're the classic kind, not "Avenue". they were only $8 each, IMO, that is so reasonable. Macy's and Fortunoff always have them on sale (it seems) for $10.

I am still using the ones I got from my shower 9 years ago. A few are slightly frayed.

I've had the same RL towels since 1997 and they are still in great condition. I got them from a Syms in NJ.
