How to tip trash collectors..help!!
Our garbage gets picked up at like 6 and we're not home at that time.
How do you do it if you can't be home to give them their xmas tip.

The come at 6am. They use those machines to pick up the garbage can. I wasn't sure if taping it to the lid was a good idea.
Anybody else do anything different?

DH tells me i have to set my alarm clock and be waiting for them.  i don't really want to tape it to the lid.

I have taped it to the cans. I have also met them and handed it to them.
Those are the only two ways.

We are home when they come around (just wake up) so DH ran out to hand it to one of the guys. Otherwise I would go with Lisa's suggestion on a day off when you can give it to them.

HAHAHA I taped mine to the lid - They dont show up till 10:30am and we are both gone by then. I should of trained the dog to run out and give them their tip

I just got back from the store.
I am giving the garbage men $30 total plus a 12 pack of corona beer, wich was about 17 dollars
I dont drink beer so i dont know the price of these things!!!!
I thought corona was a good brand?
And i will give the mailman 30 dollars.
Do you think this is good?

We went outside to give the garbage men their cards and there was a line of cars in the street with people giving them cards and telling them where they lived
