Do you get grossed out

from motel/hotel rooms??

we go on family vacations and the hotels skeeve me...I hate the beds and walking barefoot in the room. The showers even gross me out. Sometimes...oh who am I kidding I always bring my own pillow and blankets

DH says I am being prissy ......am I?

No...not at all. I think sitting on the bedspread is gross...IMO...

ME AND YOU THINK THE SAME ON THIS!

No matter where we are. Mike goes in first and turns on the lights. AND even worse I make him take the blankets and top sheet off the bed to make sure theres nothing under there.

I realize im a wacko.


Not wacko at all......you have no idea who was doing what on that bed I cant even imagine getting under the covers at a motel ewewewewewew

Yes. I always wear my shoes or socks and I never sit or sleep with the bed spread. Do you really think they wash the spread every time they change the sheets? I don't. Yucky

I was actually watching a shoe and they said you can call the front desk to request new sheets like right out of the package.

i am very afraid of bugs that like dirt (im sure you know what I am talking about) and like the dark. I will actually sleep with a light on in a hotel

I dont..but I dont get freaked out by germs..BUT I think im the minority..its not weird...MANY people are freaked out by it.. Im sure your anxiety about it being "germy" is accurate anyhow....

yes I once watched a 20/20 show on them and they went over a hotel room that had just been cleaned with one of those black lights omg it was disquisting especially the bed spread!!!!!

Being a motel/resort manager, I tend to check every corner the minute I walk in and If a get any gross feelings, I'm out of there.

I don't mean to skeeve you all out even more, but I can let you in on a few things. Even a five star hotel has "problems".

1) It's pretty standard that bedspreads and blankets are ONLY washed when needed or once a year. ALWAYS ask for a second sheet to be put on top of the blanket!

2) Pillows usually get replaced once a year. That's a lot of heads on them. I always bring my own!

3) During a resorts busy season, there isn't a whole lot of time to do a really good cleaning in between guests, especially since some of them leave the room in shambles! Don't push for an early check-in. Give them the time to really clean the room.

4) Always pull back the mattress pad. If you don't like what you see, request a new room!!

and

5) Be extra nice when you are making your reservation so that you do get the nicest and cleanest room available!

If it's a classy place, then not at all. My mother's all for saving money though and one time on vacation, we stayed at a really cheap hotel. I was skeeved out the entire time.

I wont stay at a Motel, at all. I wont stay at a lot of hotels either because they gross me out! I NEVER use the bedspread!! EWWW

I always bring a can of Lysol with me. DH laughed when as soon as we arrived in London on our HM I went out to the store and paid the equivalent of about $7.50 for a small can. I sprayed the room top to bottom.

I have asked for clean sheets even though the changed the room. I really wanted to make sure it was done and wanted to see them do it.
