What should I put here ???

This was made for plants but as you see I am not doing well with that idea can you give me some suggestion on what else to put here . It is also a part of my dining area. Which I have an open floor plan so the kitchen , dining and living room is all open .

Why not a couple of nice vases with silk flowers in them - or a few statues and picture frames.
If that were in my house I would definitely put photo's there.

Id probably put some framed pictures, art work, or even some nice candle sticks with holders up there.

or you can put up decorative plates w/ holders up there also..I saw some really nice ones in Pottery Barn.

I would probably put some sculptural vases on those shelves and perhaps an uplight behind them to turn on at night (they make ones that run on batteries, in case you don't have a socket right there). Something like these vases from C&B might look nice. Also, here's a pic of the effect an uplight might have on those walls

Something that won't reuqire constant dusting - So I'd stay away from silk flowers. - How about candles, picture frames, artwork, etc. -
