We have everything else and just need this to close...

Re: how long should a title take?

A report comes in in dribs and drabs(street may come in one day fire two days later. They are probably waiting on a CO which can take 6-8 weeks in some towns. What town is this? You may want to chek with your lender because they may not even require a CO although its good for you to have if you plan on selling as your buyer's lender may require one. If you really want to hurry it you may be able to go down to the town and request it.

HAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!

No offfense, but it doesn't take 3 days. Maybe if you are doing a short search and aren't including ANY munis, but that's it.

It takes 2 - 3 weeks max.

Re: how long should a title take?

Your title should be in, if not by now, defintely sometime next week. Giving them Thanksgiving as a break. Did your Seller provide you with a survey?

ETA: When is your "on or about date"

Re: how long should a title take?

I just take offense to the fact that I have my husband take time out of his busy day to answer questions for people for FREE

and that some people just always have something nasty to say back

Yes, really. Because I put together title reports and deliver them on a daily basis. It's my job.

We all know your husband has been in the business. Every time you post you mention that. I'm in the business too. I've been in the field for 10 years, so what. I'm sure there are plenty of people on this board with more or less experience. We all have different opinions. I'm just stating mine.

You're both right. For refi's it is possible for a broker to get a report back in 2-3 days. For purchases it takes longer especially if you are in a city/township/borough that is backed up for CO's. I said this about 15 posts ago!

I mentioned that it could take that short period of time for a short search (aka refi) but not for a purchase. I don't disagree with that. And I know you mentioned, I saw your post at the top. (Side note: if you are in the business, I can help you get C/Os quicker than 6-8 weeks btw)

Re: how long should a title take?

When we bought our house, the title was in about 24 hours later.....which I know is unheard of. But we had a friend of the family doing the title search and he is also the owner of the title agency, and a giant scary man, so he can get things pretty quickly.
