I know how you feel! We probably looked at over 100 houses until we found ours. Trust me, you will find yours!!!

If you don't mind sharing, where did you find yours?

oh well- my DH grew up in that neighborhood

I bet they know each other

My DH explains himself as someone no one would talk to in HS b/c he was in band. His brother also grad from there, but in '00.

how far out east are you willing to go?

Shoreham - $419

That's out of our price league, but it's nice!

its been on the market for a LONG time - I can see it selling for $389...

what about Rocky Point? The SD is pretty good and there are alot of homes under $400K

Yeah, we looked out there last weekend, but the lots were so small in comparison to what we can find in 3 Village and Port Jeff Sta. We fell in love with this ranch: Rocky Point home , but when we measured the MB, it couldn't fit all of our furniture, so we had to put that one aside.

on homes on MLSLI, and I'm not orginally from LI, so I need help with SDs. I've seen Patchogue-Medford. How would you rate this one? Or Comsewogue or Middle Country?

If I can be honest without starting anything with anyone who lives there--I think those are all not terrible but not great school districts. Sachem is also really close to those areas and I think it may be a bit better than Middle Country. And it probably has some offerings in your price range. I would think that 3 Village is hard to get in your price range. I've browsed the listings there.

I grew up in Miller Place, I would recommend all of those areas. Also, Sound Beach is incorporated into the Miller Place SD. I don't love Sound Beach, but there are nice parts of it too.

Also, my cousins went to Longwood and it is just a much bigger school than most of the others in the area. And it is a school that you can definately make the best of.
