Re: Malverne
I'm the one that said LYNBROOK in the westwood(westend) area is a bubble. I have a step-daughter in middle school, I attended EVERY single event in that elem. school for 5 years & RARELY saw a child, parent or teacher that wasn't white. To me in a school of a couple hundred kids...that's weird. Now in the middle school I have noticed a SLIGHT improvement with diversity. And I have to agree with the train thing to a degree, my stepdaughter lives a block away & we have to pause our phone conversations when the train passes. Obviously by the home prices in the area its not bad enough to keep people from buying there.
I think opinions are great but such strong negative feelings are better received in FMs if you REALLY feel that strongly. I think we've all seen this get ugly enough times to know better.
ETS-everything I just took the time to respond to is gone.

Re: Malverne
I grew up in Malverne and went to Catholic school (SHA girl here too).
The town is lovely. My 3 brotheres and sister went to Malverne HS - in the 70s and 80s. (So if Lakeview ever did have their own HS it burned down before 1970 that is for SURE!). They are all very successful and liked their HS.
I too felt very safe there - having your own polic force is a nuisance if you are a teenager but boy do I wish we had that now.
I do feel that Malvernites can be a bit snooty, IMO. I wasn't one of those, but lots of the girls I went to HS with were.
However I tell DH that if my old house ever goes up for sale we are buying it.

Re: Malverne
wow, i havent read these posts since friday and look at all the posts that were edited.. can someone please fm me what happened??
malverne reminds me a lot of the town i live in now- floral park- i grew up here.. small quiet town, nice people middle class- not really diverse at all. the only difference i see is the school district..
floral park only has floral park students attending.
so i was curious about 'lakeview'. can some one fm me about that?
Also, how does vs 13 rate???
Thanks!!!!
