im currently researching origination fees, closing costs, etc... and wanted to know which broker you liked to deal with

I am using Bank of America.
Unless they are paying points, closing costs will be pretty much the same. If they go to a few banks, they can get a good faith estiimate, which would estimate the closing costs better.

A broker shops banks for you.
and they are going to charge you for that service, even if you get a lower rate you will be paying somewhere else.
If you know a broker, I would have them shop around for you - but ive heard too many stories of people going to brokers and thinking they got a great deal, but when they got to the closing table, there were extra fees. What can you do at that point? not much.
I would start at the bank(s) that I currently bank with.

I used a broker, he was great we did one refinance with him and are now purchasing our new house using him. His name is Rob from Lighthouse Financial 631-878-2642 .

We used a mortage broker in NC -- Cavalier Mortgage -- they got us a great rate and there were no hidden costs......our mortgage bank is Wells Fargo...

We used Castle Rock Mortgage in Melville (our family friend is a broker there). We have our loan through ACS.

I have Chase for my mortgage on my house and Wells Fargo for the mortgage on my condo. They had the best rates at the time. They really have done a fine job managing the mortgages but I can't say either one is better.

We shopped around & got the best rate through them! So far, no complaints & I love the convient factor of just going there to pay my mortgage!
