Has anyone been inside this house?

It's so damn CUTE! It just went down 15k since I bookmarked it on 10/9.

This would be a no brainer for DH and I, if the price was more reasonable. It has everything that we want. We're really curious why it hasn't sold - is it because the price is way too high? We don't know. Was wondering if anyone had "insider info"...

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

I haven't been inside, but holy $$$...for 2 bedrooms & 1 bath...

I think it hasn't sold because it's rediculously priced.... BUT that's just MHO

That house is absolutely charming!!!! I love it. It says 5 bedrooms but I would be curious about sq. ftg. I say RUN to go look but I do think maybe the price may come down even more???

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

it looks like a flip that has been staged. Too perfect.

Also too much money for 2 beds and 1 bath!

I think that is the reason. Yes its beautiful, but 4K for 2 bedrooms is a lot.

It says 5 bedrooms

It's a 5 room house - 2 BR, 1 BA.

It's really cute - and they seem to have an affinity for chandeliers! LOL

I think they're pricing it based on property size, potential (it's an easy house to dormer) and the renovations they did. ETA: and location.

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

It looks really nice, I love the mouldings and sills but 2 bedroom homes are not a hot commodity and the master bedroom looks tiny, just based on the way the bed looks very cramped in the pic.

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

I agree - it's the location that is setting that price! It looks really cute!

OMG, that deck. I am in love with this house.
It's high, but you would never have to change anything. Ever. It's definitely a flip.

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

definitely a flip.

imo, thats a lot of money for such a small house. thats probably why it hasnt sold. the market in Setauket is dead. i can see them coming down to $399.

That is sooo cute! Definitely great for a couple starting out, since as Colleen stated, it could easily be dormered down the road. The price is a little too high for today's market though.

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

summer of 05 it would have sold in a second at that price. Now they will be living there a while. Its a really quaint part of Setauket, my ex-fiance lived a few houses away. That was back when there wasn't a house around for over 150kChat Icon I'm dating myself.

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

I agree - last summer it would have probably had a bidding war at that price Chat Icon

now, im getting a much larger house (not as updated, but we'll get there) in East Setauket for less than that.

You can definitely find a better buy in the neighborhood.

Why would you think this is a flip? I have no idea what makes it so obvious that its a flip but I do love the show "Flip this house" so I am curious Chat Icon

well it looks like a flip to me! - they might have lived there though - since furniture is in it. id like to see when they bought it.

the neutral paint colors everywhere, hardwoods (or laminates, cant tell from the pics) granite countertops. screams "i want to make a quick buck on my house)

once I get my house looking like that, theres no way id sell, lol.

Re: Has anyone been inside this house?

my Dad's house in Setauket sold for $520K

4 bedrooms, 3 full bath rooms, updated everything, bonus room over the garage- the size of a 2 car garage

and the same amout of land

so that house is way over priced for the area

and Setuaket has had a major slow down
