Yet another question....
We finally received the engineer's inspection toady and I have some questions for you guys:
How detailed was your report? Did it list something like a "wooden flower box that is deteriorating" or "the threshold between the kitchen and the addition contains a saddle that is above kitchen floor level and creates a tripping hazard"
Did it talk about the deck outside (if you have one)?
He even mentioned the vent hose from the dryer should be replaced.
How much of this stuff is normal for a house built in 1948
My head is spinning.....

Yes, the inspection should be very detailed. Ours was. You should be concerned more about structural things that may be wrong or potential water damage.
All that stuff sounds normal.

yes it is VERY detailed. which is good!
he told us what was cosmetic and what wasnt. our only issue is the roof, but its the garage roof so we are going to try to negotiate for them to fix it or give us a credit. but we got such a great price for the house, we will close even if they say no and fix it ourselves.
