How accurate is...
The mortgage calculator on MSLI?
I mean, in relation to real life costs? I am pretty sure we will get around a 6% interest rate- maybe even lower- but how realistic is a $2100 mortgage?

If you put in your down payment, the rate and the terms, then you will have the exact payment per month. then add in taxes and insurance costs.

think of it this way. . . .at 6% you will repay $600 per month for every $100,000 you borrow.
Borrow $400K you will be paying $2400 per month. You have to add in taxes and insurance, but at least it gives you a rough estimate.

Ahhh... the taxes.
Shouls I add those in by simply dividing the tax amount by 12? Or are you paying some sort of an interest on them too?

yes, just take the taxes and divide by 12.
