Id search for condos too, not just townhomes on MLSLI. You may have better luck that way.

There are townhouses in Syosset, Woodbury, Plainview, Glen Cove.... What area in particular are you looking and what is your price range?

If you do a search for condo/co-op in syosset/plainview/woodbury/glen cove you will come up with a lot of townhouses. I am sure there are other areas that have townhouse communities as well, but I know there are some in the areas i mentioned.

There are lots of condos in oceanside & island park.
Here are a few listings:
We went to see this one twice, but decided not to pursue it since it's right on Long Beach road across from the smokestacks & oil city. It's brand new though!

My aunt & uncle live in the yacht club and we WISH we could afford it. (Gated)

Alhambra in oceanside is nice, but the parking situation isn't great.

My dad lived there. We just sold his condo in Alhambra. There is only parking for the residents. Visitors have to park in the shopping centers across the street or next door.
The one in island Park is nice. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances....and they were built in 2004. My parents looked at them when they just finished them, and they could of bought a corner unit for $299,999. That is what they were going for now, and now they are up to $369k....and across the street ias the oil stacks....Nice view.

Great Neck has some really pricey TownHouses. These are newly constructed from $800k to over $1 million.

Woodbury has some really nice ones. My boss owns one in the Woodbury Commons, very nice layout! 3 bedrooms 3 and a half baths, full basement, dining room, living room, eat in kitchen. No clue how much though, sorry.
