This just blows!

I have a dry eye condition and I've been treating it with over the counter stuff. Upon my last visit to the eye doc he gave me the option of trying that first before prescribing.

I didn't ask him for the script then and I should have. I want the prescription stuff now and I called and he's on vacation until next Friday!

I asked if there is another doc covering since there are 6 other doctors there and the person on the phone said the other doc would probably want to see me first. I was just there last week.

As much as I like this practice their hrs stink. It's only business hrs M-F so I would have to take time off from work to go.

I hope the notes in my file say that the doc offered the script originally to me and I won't have to go again. The other doc will review my chart and call me back.

You need TruTears or something, its OTC and works miracles. Thats what my eye dr told me to get in lieu of a heavy medicine that burns.

eta:
it is the only name brand "tears" and I am not positive of the name. I keep it in my purse and use it as needed.

the doc has me using the refresh plus and a nightime ointment.

This dry eye business is really bothering me. It's worse in my right eye.

If I can't get the script I may look for that other stuff.

Do you wear contacts by any chance? I have really bad dry eye and the dr. prescribed me contact lenses specifically for dry eye...they seem to help alot.

no, just dry eye. I just spoke to the office and it's a good chance they will call the prescription in.

I just hope this is not something more serious..it's really very uncomfortable. I feel like I just want to close my eyes and go to sleep. Such a gritty dry feeling. Of course it doesn't help that I have had no sleep the past coupe of nights.

I'm hoping the doc will call it in. He is looking at my chart and will give his office the go ahead if he feels comfortable.

I spoke to one of the people there and it says at the bottom that we talked about the script and some other info. She said she will call me back to let me know if she called it in or not.

My eyes haven't been the same since I had a big scratch under my eyelid.. The eyelid healed but now I have this condition which is the thing that really blows!
