 Restaurant Rave--Oscar's in St. James
It's quiet, fairly priced, romantic and cozy without being fancy. The food is outrageous! We went last night just to chill out and get our minds off things. I really recommend it. It's part of restaurant week, starting today. The portions are a really good size, meaning...it's how we should eat. You don't leave stuffed.

Continental w/ a focus on seafood...done in an interesting way. I had sea scallops with baby gnocchi. We also had calimari done very spicey with sliced cabbage.
Later, we had rice pudding with toasted pineapple and coconut icecream!

  Yes! They do...really nice steaks.
Christy, we went at like 6; you don't need them at that time....

You can dress casual, we usually go in jeans, sweater or nice shirt. Usually we don't wear sneakers, but my DH does sometimes. He has some nice black sneakers, that are a little more dressy then a pair of Nikes.
You don't need reservations if you go before 6:30pm. After that you might want to just call and make them.
The food is a little different, meaning not just a steak and mashed potatoes. It might be a special kind of steak with different marinade and mashed sweet potatoes. The food is very good! Usually it costs us around $100+ tip when we go, sometimes less.
They have a bistro menu on Sunday with half priced meals. You can get a burger and fries, or pasta for around $10 each. They also usually have dinner menu items as well, for normal prices. So you have a choice. I think that is from 12-8 on Sundays only.
I think I know too much about this place, we go there a lot I guess.

Yeah, I mean, it's casual, but not jeans and sneakers. I *thought* it would be more of a bar/restaurant type deal, kind of Faradays style of even Finley's--but it's a step up. I wore jeans, heels, and a sweater. It's not jacket and tie, but it's nice.
