Re: bayside ladies....

I grew up there- what do you want to know about the buses? There's the bus, I think its the Q13 that runs up and down Bell and then there's the bus that runs on Northern east and west. There is an express bus that you can get in Bay Terrace to take to NYC. IMO - the LIRR is better.

Re: bayside ladies....

Thanks! i live on 215th place so ive been walking the 10 minutes to the LIRR but i wasn't sure if it would be easier picking up a bus somewhere.

Re: bayside ladies....

I'm curious, what street is the LIRR station at on Bell?

Also, what developments or buildings are close and what is the parking situation there like?

Also, do you ladies know how well the 3 bedroom Co-Op's sell and if they allow pets?

Thanks

Re: bayside ladies....

I wouldn't recommend where I live- it's towers at water's edge

too many rules

and a regular 1 bedroom is going for $339K

a junior 4 is selling for about $100K more

I could only imagine what a 3 bedroom would be going for Chat Icon

Re: bayside ladies....

your welcome- we really dislike them also- we wont be buying one

there are condos - but they are really expensive but so nice- baybridge

I kind of want to look there- but for what we would spend on a 1 bedroom- I could get a 2 or 3 bedroom in westchester- so we are moving there!

Re: bayside ladies....

I'm with you. After seeing townhouses in Holbrook with 3 bedrooms, its hard to even look at 2 bedrooms. At least in a 3 bedroom we wouldn't be in a rush to leave as soon as we start a family. And, big and, one that was listed at $309 just dropped to $299. I'm hoping by March when we are looking to move, they drop even lower.

Best of luck Beth!!

Re: bayside ladies....

same to you!

a 1 bedroom just doesn't work for us- my childhood home is sold and when my brother or sister come back to visit I would like a place to offer them to stay

I like bayside- but Jake doesn't- he isn't a city person- he will really like westchester- once I get him up there!

it's not cheap - you are paying for the location

Re: bayside ladies....

he pays the rent! so he has so say in it

I was glad he went for westchester- I thought he would want to move back to LI- but then I wouldn't be able to keep my job- which I really like- so this is fair

Some places I recommend:

Bayside Milk Farm on Bell Blvd for when you dont feel like going to Waldbaums. They have great produce and prepared foods.

Nail Place - I think its called Susan's Nails. It's right above Hazel's shoe store right across from Milk Farm

Restaurants
Thai - Erawan
Italian: Papazzio
Sushi: Okinawa
Pizza - I like VIP

Dentist - MARIANA SAPIR, D.D.S 213-33 39th Ave., Suite 302

We are on 215th also!! We have been here for 3 years and love it!

I love to eat at Maggie May's, they make a great salad . Yoguteria is good to order from. Low cal food and it is good. That's a wrap is also good for salads/wraps. VIPizza is great.

For buses you can take the Q12 to flushing and take the 7 into the city..to grand central it takes about an hour. I use to take the QM3 express bus into the city but it started taking longer and longer!! Over an hour everyday..so now I take the LIRR.

Welcome to the neighborhood :)

LIRR Station is at 38ave and Bell Blvd. This thread brought back memories.
VIP is still my favorite pizza when I am back in town.

I grew up around the corner from Cardozo so I can recommend Juns Nails - driving from Bay Terrace towards Northern, cross over Northern and its a few blocks down on your right. They do a great job.

Donovans is also an awesome restaurant (I think its on 41st?)

It's actually 41st Avenue & Bell - right next to First Edition. The station house is on 41st about a block west of Bell.

Bayside Salumeria on 41st & Corporal Kennedy is a fantastic deli.

Sullivans on 41st behind the 7-11 has good food (esp wings!) and a nice outdoor dining area in warmer weather.

Bourbon Street is my current favorite -- really diverse menu and everything is tasty.

I heard good things about Press 195 and Cheesesteak Factory but haven't tried them yet.
