Yet another MIL vent! UPDATE, I am so PO'd!!
Since everyone is sharing their in-law stories here's a lovely one about my MIL:
I guess on one hand I don't have it so bad. My MIL is actually loves me to death and is very nice to me.(although my theory on her kindness is because I'm her only shot at having grandchildren but that's a whole other story  ) Unfortunately she's a liar and an idiot! To make a long story short, when DH and I first got engaged she offered to pay for our photography and video. Knowing she was not very financially stable we first turned her down but she insisted stating she would work out a payment plan and how she wants to do this for us etc....(she can be a real pest when she doesn't get her way!) So we agreed (big mistake!) We originally started shopping w/her for it but then she turned around and booked it all by herself which annoyed me but I figure she's paying for it I'll just keep my mouth shut. Anyway fast forward to the present it is now just over a year since we've been married and no we have no wedding album or video. I finally inquired to DH what is taking so long and he calls his mom who insisted these things take time and it's not ready yet even though we picked out the pics for our album in 10/04. (It was just a simple album, no xtras or touch ups because we didn't want her to pay anymore then she already was. My mother even turned down a parent album so it would be cheaper.) Well after DH interrogates her over the phone he finally gets her to admit that she still owes them almost $2000 but still insists that's not why the pictures aren't ready She starts crying to him how her car broke down (this happens about once a week) and how the ATM machine did not give her money so her account is short $x. More background on this: She has already suckered my mother into lending her $$ to help pay for this and DH has been giving her $300 a month to help her dig herself out of debt again (she already filed for bankruptcy once in her life) So now I have to go down to the photo place (which by the way I was never thrilled about my pictures ) and pay them in cash, because that's the deal she made w/them to avoid taxes, and hopefully be able to pick up my wedding album and video. Then I get into an argument over the phone w/her because she's insisting she will reimburse me so I finally just yes'd her to death just to get her off the phone. I plan on shredding any checks if does sends them because who knows how far in debt she really is. There is so many more little things I can tell you about her but then I'd be going on forever. The longer I know this women the more I realize she lies and manipulates people to hide the truth.
I think what bothers me the most is that I don't think she will ever be able to get her act together and she is going to be a constant burden in our lives. 
Oops I guess my short story ran a little long. For those of you who actually had the patience to read this, thanks! 
Update : So I got hold of the photo & video people, the remaining balance is $1111.43 for the photo & $705 for the video.(which she got backwards when I spoke to her) My video is ready but my album isn't, not because I didn't pick out my pics early enough but because they had to put it on hold because of lack of payment!! Instead of saying something to us she decides to blame the company and get us to think that they are just really slow. I am so fed up w/this woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! That's some story! How do you feel about your DH giving her money every month? I understand that it's a very nice thing to do for her since she went bankrupt but that would pi$$ me off. I also cannot believe that she got your mom involved!!
Does this woman work?
Maybe you need to have a talk with her with your DH. You must always try to be one step ahead of your MIL...to see when she's being sneaky or lying to you. I should know...

MIL hated when we got married, all along DH had been paying her car insurance(I had no idea) once we got married I took her off. He had been paying since he was 19. My ILs call and ask for money in Spanish, but we rarely send it. It is honestly the only thing DH and I ever argue about. He is put in such a hard spot. Just out of curiousity, how long have you been paying 300 a month?

yeah that drives me insane!!! I refuse to do another holiday with them. Too many of them spent with me sitting there being ignored.

Well everytime her car breaks down she seems to come up a little short so DH found out a few months ago that she's about $9000 in debt. He agreed to give her $3000 of it by paying $300 for 10 months then he's cutting her off. I can't really say anything because DH was laid off from his job about four years ago and she helped him out financially so he could go back to school so this is DH's way of paying her back.

I wouldve been pi$$ed off from the start...to me.. if you wanna genuinely do something for me... than do what it is that I want... let me pick out the photo or video (or couches ) if not... then I would rather appreciate your gesture, but do things myself... I dont know am I selfish????

I am so sorry you haven't gotten your pictures and that this is what it takes to get them. I feel more sorry for your MIL than angry. You must want to follow her one day and really find out where all of her money goes

ETA: She's called here 2x today already but I refuse to speak to her now she must know she's in trouble!

Wow, that is really unbelievable.
As for the ATM, I believe most have a limit ($500 total withdrawl per day).
Sorry you have to go through this.
