me too! From the pics of him, he looked like he was sick...

And where were they? NY or NJ? I know it has to be somewhat local, because the Dad was FDNY and Alure did the work...

He had a brain tumor. Surgeons removed as much as they could, but it grew back. Chat Icon
I can NEVER get through that show without bawling. Especially when it's about children.Chat Icon

ETA- They lived in upstate NY. Alure did the work on the house.

That was the saddest one yet.
DH and I both thought the memorial room was a bit depressing. We can understand keeping the gifts from the community and such but its an entire room. Chat Icon I just think it makes it more difficult for the family to "try" to move on welcome a new child into the home.

There's a term called "Shrining" and it is not healthyChat Icon
usually people do it themselves & have to come to the realization it is not healthy.
They just created a not so good situation for these people.

DH and I were saying the same thing. I personally cannot imagine losing a child, but to dedicate that whole room like that cannot make it easier.Chat Icon

It was great the way the whole community got together for them though.Chat Icon

I was bawling. I kept wondering how I'd feel if it were one of my children. I was thinking the same thing about the room as well. I wouldn't even be able to set foot in it. It was a nice idea, but they took it a little too far.
