Mom Issues.
I swear I just want to scream today. My mom needs the world to revolve around her or she isn't happy and if you try to point this out the her somehow you become the selfish one.
Yesterday was my baby shower and first she was PO'd because my MIL was in town for it and MIL had already given me a shower in NY and she wanted this shower to be about her I guess (they didn't come for that reason just for a visit) but she got over that. Then she got bent because I asked to exchange an outfit she got for a bigger size because its more winter weight and she got newborn and my baby is due in Sept. Well she got upset because she bought that for me to bring my baby home in...ummmm HELLO don't I get to pick what to bring my child home in? She said mothers buy their daughters the outfit for their baby to go home in. OK I never heard of that.
Then at the shower she moped in a corner unless someone was talking to her. I swear I just wanted to have a great day and I was irritated the whole time. My friends did such a nice job and she totally put a damper on my day.
I wish this was the only thing, I could write pages and pages. I thought it would get better with me being pregnant but its getting worse. She acts like she is the only grandparent and this baby should be all about her.
OK just needed to vent. I was so sad last night after what should have been a happy day.

I'm so sorry ..but I hope you still got to enjoy your shower...
makes me realize the drama that may occur, hence why I decided not to have one..

Sorry you have to go through this. I went through similar stuff with my mom with my wedding and thankfully she has not started anything since I told her I was PG. I am sure tho that "something" will offend her when it comes to the shower.

Oh god my wedding was a whole other story. At least she let me have my day but the day after had to be huge embarassing drama in front of the in laws. What a mess.
