Back with my Birth Story!
It's been a week now and I just got a chance to sit down. I am very lucky to be staying at my Mom's with DH and DS for a couple of weeks, but even with all of the help, I'm exhausted!
I went into labor on Tuesday night the 19th and ended up with an emergency C section at 11:30am on the 20th, my due date. I was doing really well, but just couldn't dilate past 8cm.
It was wonderful having my Mom (an OB nurse) and DH by my side and the lamaze breathing really worked for a while. I asked for the epidural about 5am. Unfortunately, I had a reaction to it and my heart rate dropped really, really low, as did the babies. So they decided to do the section. In the move from one bed to another, they moved the epidural and when they gave me what ever anesthesia they give you, it paralyzed me from the neck down. I tried to tell them I couldn't breath, but they weren't paying attention. The last thing I remember was them saying intubate her, the next thing, it was an hour later and I had a son! Because of the state that I was in, they couldn't even bring DH into the OR. So I am kind of sad that we missed the whole "It's a boy" moment together.
Besides that, it was scary as hell and I am having a hard time getting that panic feeling, of not being able to communicate thenbreath, out of my head, but I have the most beautiful son and DH an I couldn't be more thrilled! He was 8lbs 12oz 20 inches.
So that's my story! I want to thank everyone who gave so much support, advice and friendship over the past 9 months! You are all wonderful!

What an amazing story- you were so brave!
You baby boy is adorable and you look great- you don't even look like you just gave birth!

Oh My god! My heart nearly stopped reading your story...you poor thing...thank goodness for the wonderful end result...your son is beautiful. What did you call him?
You look great. Wishing you a speedy recovery and enjoy every precious minute.

Oh wow, what a story. I can relate a bit; I still have panicky feelings about my c/s even though it wasn't half the experience yours was!

Oh my goodness JoAnne, what a story!! 
I'm so sorry you went thru the emergency c-sec and all the complications that went along with it.. but in the end Im so thrilled you and your baby boy are OK and that you are home together!! God bless him and you!!

Having such a scary birth can put you at an increase for PPD/Post Tramatic Stress. Please let me know if you need anything- I had both.
Epidurals are not always just so easy and so many women forget about the risks.
