if you got a regular dresser instead of changing table...
how do you/did you secure the changing pad to the dresser? We have a regular dresser in the nursery and it makes DH nervous to just have the changing pad sitting there. Did you just sit it there and hope for the best or did you come up with a way to secure it? I don't want to use velcrow because I don't want to ruin the dresser. Any other suggestions?

We never secured it with anything. To be honest, I was never even all that worried about it-- I never leave her on it and walk away. But, if you find a way to secure it, it can't hurt!

One of DD's dressers has a removable wooden railing that goes all around the dresser. It screws in the back. When we don't need the changing pad anymore we will remove it and it looks like a regular piece of furniture.

WE never secured it either. I just never left the babies side when they were there. Everything I needed was in my reach.

I didn't secure it either, never left him alone.
But I did put one of those rubber, foam mats like you would put under an area rug under it to help keep it in place. Worked great.

We had a changing pad on the dresser in the bedroom and we never secured it. What for? You will never leave the baby on it alone anyway and i always had all the things I needed to change him right by.

We did secure ours to the dresser. The changing pad has a couple of tabs that hang off the back of it. We secured those tabs to the back side of the dresser (I'm pretty sure the screws came with the changing pad). We did not secure it on both sides though. It's worked just fine.

My changing pad came with straps that you attach to the back of the dresser. It still is not very secure though because only 1 side can be secured, but it is better than nothing. I am just very careful when I have him up there.

Same here. The mattress pad does come with flaps that you can secure on to the back of the dresser.

We put the changing pad in the crib or on the floor to change both of them. Their dressers are too tall to put it on the top.

We got a table top "changing table." It's wood and attaches to the back of the dresser. The pad goes on top. When you remove it, the only holes are in the back of the dresser, so you can't see them at all. DS was EXTREMELY difficult during diaper changes. There is NO WAY I could have changed him on a pad that moved, because he was fighting me the whole time. It would have been one more thing to contend with. However, DD would have been just fine with a pad isn't secured. I just put the changing top on for her automatically, since we had used it for her brother.

There were tabs that we attached to the back of the dresser and then we put one of those thin foam pads under it so it would not slide. Worked great!!!

I think the pad has straps on it and my hubby simply srewed it into the back of the dresser. It didn't do any damage that you would really see and it has secured it somewhat.
