Driving services for chemo patients on LI?
Hi everyone,
I don't really post too much but I was hoping you ladies might know someone who would be available to drive someone back & forth for chemo treatments and be willing to wait for the chemo to be finished & take them home for a fee? Unfortunately my mother is suffering from breast cancer & is undergoing chemo. I work full time & live in Jersey & my dad works full time as well, so it is hard for us to take her. My mom is in Nassau county. Thanks so much.

There is a bus service that does this on LI. I will try to find the name of it. They will take people for medical treatments and visits.
eta: sorry to hear about your mom..praying for a speedy remission and her tolerating the treatments well.
here's the link to able ride. I don't know if your mom is eligible but I hope it helps.

I am sorry to hear about your mom... My dad works for this company... AMR and basically he drives people to docs offices or diayisys and waits for them...then drives them back. Im not sure how much this costs but you might want to look into it.
The website has a national number but he works in Ronkonkoma...maybe you can find the local number!
Good Luck!

You could also try calling the Adelphi Breast Cancer Support Program. The hotline is always staffed and can help with community resources.
