How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
Any tips to not spending a small fortune? We get a lot of trick or treaters. My target cart right now is at 75$

Usually not as much as I will have to spend this year! I usually pick up the sale bags at Shop Rite and they are $4/bag This year! I usually spend around $75 but am estimating closer to $100 this year.

Not much. Maybe 15.00, esp since Halloween is during the week. We have an 11 year old so we’re out trick or treating and by the time we get home, there aren’t that many kids that come.

Re: How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
BJs has much better prices on Halloween large bags than Target. Like double the amount for the same price

Not much. We don’t get a lot of kids so I usually buy 3 of the small bags from Walmart.

Re: How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
I bought 2 75 count bags of snack size candies from Stop & Shop. They were on sale for $18, so $36.
I didn't shop around-- i just picked them up when I was buying groceries.
It's probably too much--we get about 40 kids max, but I think we are going to make bags, with a few pieces each.
How many pieces do you give per kid? or do you just let them pick?

We get a lot of kids, a lot of families in our area have friends over on Halloween so we get a lot of large groups. I usually put out a sign saying take 2 (as we are out trick or treating ourselves). Sometimes if we run out and my kids are already home, I just put out their candy (as they dont eat it all anyway, I just threw out a bunch from last year).

That’s what I did last year ?? We get the same. So many kids from other neighborhoods come to ours and there’s nothing left over so I’m always nervous it’s not enough.

How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
At this point, I just get fruit snacks from Costco. A box of 90 was on sale for $8 dollars this month so I grabbed 2.
Candy prices are completely out of control and I don’t want the leftovers.

Re: How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
I’m not buying any. The last few years I got zero trick or treaters in the time that we were home before & after trick or treating. I ended up with way too much left over. If anyone stops by, I already have a little bit on hand.

Re: How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
Usually about $60-ish. I do a mix of some good chocolate and then the cheaper things- lollipops, sour patch, nerds, m&ms, starburst, etc.
I also do an allergy friendly bowl with non-candy items- stickers, tattoos, stamps, squishies, glow sticks.
I am not home on Halloween since we're out trick or treating but I leave the bowls on the stoop. The street adjacent to ours is closed off for traffic every year so it is HEAVY trick or treating in our area- kids are bussed in from other towns. It's chaos. We usually stop home once in between trick or treating after school and going out for the night so I generally refill the bowl then. At this point I throw in a lot of the candy that we got that the kids don't like. And it's empty again when we get home. Both bowls- candy and allergy friendly.
ETA: There are several houses in our area that give out FULL SIZED candy bars. And I can't imagine being that kind of rich.

Re: How much do you spend on Halloween Candy?
Maybe $20. I buy one of those big bags from Costco. I dont go through the whole bag. I usually buy candy I am not a big fan of, so this way I wont eat it. Whatever is left over, I bring to work, or donate it. After Halloween, one of the teachers I work with donates leftover candy to the troops.

Ive been doing something similar. Fruit snacks, Halloween themed snack bags...but my kids absolutely hate that I do that. LOL We don't get many trick or treaters so, even when I do buy candy, it's minimal.
