Airport transportation question
So there is a local guy in my town that does airport rides for local families as a side business. He's pretty much recommended by word of mouth in local FB groups. It's not like a legit Uber or business or anything. Would you also tip on top of the rate that he charges? Or not, because he is pocketing all of the money?

It depends on how much he charges. I would tip a few bucks if it is cheaper than an Uber.
I know it doesn’t compare, but I did cat sitting as a way to earn extra money and I had a pretty good price for the time I spent. I would usually get tips, but I wouldn’t be mad if I didn’t get one.

I would tip - he is using his vehicle and gas to take you to the airport so it isnt 100% profit.

I never tip anyone who is working for themselves. My DH and I are self employed so all money is ours, so the same with this guy. If you want to anyways if he went above and beyond his job, it doesn't have to be much and its not necessary.

This is kind of how I feel. If his costs go up (gas, car expenses, whatever) he can just set his pricing to reflect that. If he wants more profit, he can set his prices to reflect more profit in his pocket.
I'm usually an over tipper but in this case I don't think I would tip unless he did something above and beyond.

I agree with the others saying not to tip. But, maybe you can ask in the FB groups where you found his name? This way you can see what others who have used him have done.
