Not even sure what you are referring to but nothing would change my mind to think Trump would be better.

Seriously? Inflation? Gas prices? These are things that are hurting us all!!! I’ve never seen so many people trying to make ends meet. Do you live under a rock?

Hate the man all you want but the supply chain issues would have been fixed instead of ignored.

I could go on and on but I don’t want to waste my time because you will never see it.

Now wait till Russia and Ukraine go to war. We’re going to pay for that in many ways. We didn’t have this crap with trump. Our country is a laughing stock with this clown, no one is afraid of us.

I am wondering what guarantee trump would have prevented any of this.

Everyone is quick to blame the President but I’m not. I blame most shit in congress and other factors and if trump was in office I would feel the same Way.

Was Biden my first choice nope but Trump had no business being president and he still doesnt.

So no I don’t live under a rock I just won’t blame everything happening on one person.

And you didn’t think our country was laughing stock when Trump was president???!!! Or you just a trump worshiper where he can shoot someone in the head for no reason and you would still vote for him??!!!

How about stop obsessing with just the president and worry about how congress conducts themselves.

And you may think I am sounding hypocritical but Trumps in ability to keep his mouth shut and act like grown adult was his biggest problem and down fall. He created so many unnecessary issues. And maybe it wasn’t a big deal to you but clearly it was to a majority of people.

I will also add I havent followed the whole Russia and Ukraine issue but how is this Bidens fault. And why is it never any other countries fault from trying prevent anything. Why does it alway feel like it solely on the US to be controlling all the worlds issues.
And again what guarantee is there that Trump would have stopped it??!!

Trump, and other past presidents, were able to keep other countries in line. There was repercussions.

….so who do we blame this all on?? Boils down to the one in charge who has no control right now. No one is scared of him. No one takes him serious. He is so out of touch with reality. He is to blame. The country and world would have been better with trump over Biden.

I agree.

This stuff goes back to before Trump. There have been many surveys done that say that the rest of the world doesn’t trust Americans and how they vote and they have little faith in the US government since Trump was elected. I have been out of the US since W and I have seen it go back and forth since it started.

In short, most governments are ‘eh’ about Biden, but they are also ‘eh’ about the actual people who voted for Trump and not just Trump alone.

And inflation is everywhere. Biden doesn’t control the world. It’s a cycle and the US will not be a major power player like they were from 1945-1990 or so. The same populist shit is happening all over the world. The UK is a complete mess right now. And the people voted for it. They truly did not understand what they were voting for.

The Russia problem goes back before Trump, starting in the 2000s.

ETA: A war with Russia scares the hell out of me especially with the energy crisis we are having here. So spare me your sob stories of the border and war with Russia and America. You have no clue. Talk to me when you are are paying $8-10 a gallon in gas. Americans aren’t just in the US.

Perhaps redirect your question of “do you live under a rock?” to yourself. This is happening almost EVERYWHERE in the world.

There were crappy issues Trump inherited from past administrations and crappy issues Biden inherited. Issues don't get erased when one president leaves and a new one arrives. They are YEARS in the making. Some don't rear their ugly head until decades later. A pandemic certainly isn't helping with inflation but please...that's ALL Biden? Right...because he controls the economy worldwide. And countries didn't invade other countries prior to Biden? I don't know what history books you read.

He does control what comes in and out of our country so any hold up CAN be fixed by this administration and it is not.

Re: So is this the change all you Biden voters hoped for??

I think it's useful to look at what has been mentioned here and analyze what causes it.

Oil prices - We are actually in the middle of an energy crisis that has decreased the energy supply. An unusually cold winter in certain locales, hurricane that damaged oil rigs and rising sea levels have all impacted supply negatively. (Ironically, a Republican administration, which rejects the phenomenon of climate change, would do much more to increase the harm in this department.) On top of that, the booming economy has increased worldwide demand. One of these alone would increase prices, but both together make an enormous impact. Biden took some measure to negotiate with the industry and increase supply which caused the recent dip in prices, but there is nothing more he can do about this. It's a global issue.

Inflation - Interest rates need to be raised and I'm watching to see how that is handled. But frankly, with corporations raking in record profits, it's clearly greed. They could lower prices if they want to; they choose not to. Also, we are coming out of a pandemic when many withheld spending, voluntarily or not, and are now spending that money, enabling companies to charge more. Also, we are at long last seeing wage increases that we should have seen over many years, which also serves to raise prices. Lastly, some of this is also caused by higher energy prices which we already discussed. I'm watching this, but again, lot of it is out of his hands.

Supply chain issues - Supply chain issues are actually much better now than they were in 2020 under Trump. As they loosen up, that will further mitigate inflation.

Russia - To say that Russia didn't invade Ukraine under Trump is a little like saying that Japan didn't attack Pearl Harbor under Hoover. Russia colluded with the Trump campaign to put Trump in office (this is documented by the Repub led Senate Intelligence committee's report from 2020 - it is not a matter of opinion) so they didn't need to invade anywhere as he did their bidding for them. He worked to weaken NATO and other alliances which helped to put Putin at ease. With Biden in office NATO is now stronger than it has been in years and this rattles Putin's nerves. Another part of the issue is Putin wanting to shore up his popularity at home, which is waning for various reasons, one of which is that the pandemic exposed the fact that Russia has a fundamentally weak economy. Part of his reaction is to invade Ukraine, a non NATO country that he knows we will not go to war over. The truth is that sometimes standing up for what is right results in conflict. Hopefully the sanctions and Germany's participation in cutting the pipeline (which was in doubt) will help.

I'm not some Biden fangirl. He is worthy of criticism for sure, but it needs to be fact based. I loathe Trump but not every single crappy thing that happened while he was President was his fault. That's not how it works.

Girl. Are you selling tickets to your planet? I love how you took sooo much time to explain your very narrow POV. Do you still think the economy is thriving, too? Check your retirement account? Good grief.

Narrow POV? How so? Take some time and explain yourself. Retirement account? Now that’s a narrow POV. Your privilege is showing.

My privilege is showing because I worked really fuuuuuucking hard for decades and made good life choices? You don’t know me or the circumstances from which I came so please take a seat.

Sad that making good choices and trying to better yourself is now called a "privilege". Chat Icon Chat Icon

Take your own advice and take a seat. There are many people who will not have enough to retire— 25% have nothing and about 50% will not have enough.

All that blame doesn’t fall on Biden. And it doesn’t fall on Trump either. This is a problem that goes back years.

Never said it fell in Biden. But it doesn’t automatically make me privileged because I worry about my retirement account-again, one that I sacrificed and worked hard to build. And a lot of ppl who don't have a retirement account is simply because of their own ****** decisions (extending their credit for Wants not needs, traveling instead of investing, moving around the world taking shit-paying jobs to be with a man). Because calling someone privileged is coded language these days, which is also an attack. And yes, I am bitter at the direction out country is going which is why I am very involved in local politics now.
Posts like JennP’s get my blood to a boiling point because it’s just riddled with damaging untruths. And yes, I could take an hour and dismantle all of the ******** she posted. But I have noticed that the more sound and coherent a response the more it usually just falls on deaf ears.

Bravo on your pay scale.

You might want to go back and read what Biden did during the Financial crisis of 2008. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Our economy is thriving. Real GDP is showing strong consumption of goods and we have yet to see the move of dollars to service which will greatly impact our GDP positively. We have a tight labor market. CPI is about 2/3rd supply and demand and 1/3 housing and shelter. We are still consuming goods at the higher prices so the consumer has not capitulated yet.
The inflation we see is fast cash from monetary and fascial support and a huge appetite for goods.
Energy prices are falling in line with all of the above.

You do realize before Trump was Biden too. What did he do then?

Was he? Wow, I had no idea! Learn something new every day.

Soooo no real answer. Chat Icon

Why would I answer when you start it with a “You do realize”?

Biden had a chance as a VP and didn't do anything then. Why would anyone think he would do something now?

You come on here regurgitating stats you find online with no ability to provide analysis.

1. The recovery act was, in fact, widely debated. It was based on Keynesian principles that had long been abandoned.

Last I read inflation was around 9%. Nine. And yes, this is because Biden blew money into an economy during an artificial recession. Inflation impacts those with the least the most. We are headed for a period of stagflation that will impact this country years to come. To those who come on these board and and hand pick Economic Indicators to support their Leadership please read some basic classical economic theory. Seriously. Because y’all lack some real history and context and it shows.’Numbers can easily be manipulated to deceive the public.
