I guess she feels she is above a State Supreme Court ruling.
The corruption is epic

Maybe she is following the state supreme court ruling from Albany - which found the EXACT OPPOSITE of the judge in Nassau County.

We shall see.....
Don't worry, you can still wear your mask for the rest of your life when it's declared unconstitutional .
I just want my child free to breath the air.
Nobody is taking away your rights.

Since I have made statements on both sides of this argument - I don't know how you decided I was in favor any particular mandate.

My issue, in this particular case, has to do with people (in general - you just happened to be the one who said it) that don't understand that in New York the supreme court is the lowest level trial court in the state. Every single county has it's own. They handle medical malpractice, divorce, slip and fall, product liability etc. The fact that some judge in Nassau County issued a ruling, and a different judge in Albany County ruled exactly the opposite a month ago, and people somehow think it is this amazing thing that is the be all and end all, is just mind boggling to me. What is even more mind blowing, is believing/knowing/thinking mask wearing is harmful to kids - when the State Department of Education said to keep the masks on because there would be a stay - parents took them off their kids and then had to deal with the emotional upheaval of putting them back on. As if that wasn't going to be traumatic and detrimental. Think about that. What was more harmful, one day without and then telling all these kids that are in such emotional turmoil over wearing them in the first place they had to go back to wearing them, or just leaving them on for the one day??????????????????

I'll take any maskless day I can get.
I'm glad my daughter had a maskless day last spring and the one day last week.
She knows that people are fighting for her. She knows we have donated to the lawyers who are working pro bono fighting this in court for us.
She knows about the letter writing campaigns, etc that we participate in.
She knows it's all nonsense. She knows I support her in pulling it down as much as she needs to to breath even if it means doing it behind her teacher's backs or going to the restroom to breath.
And everyone I know told their kids that this may not last- on that one day we had maskless-to prepare them for it- because we know that witch in office is fighting tooth and nail against parental choice. The city is burning, the crime is out of control, cops are getting shot in the face, babies are getting shot, people are being pushed in front of trains- but THIS - this is the hill she chooses to die on.... But I digress...

Many kids refused to put the masks back on the next day- and were sent home. And their parents supported them in that... in standing up for what they believe in regardless of the consequences.
And it sucks, yes. Kids need to be in school. Being sent home for taking a stand seems useless, I agree.
But if we didn't have people who stood up for what they believed in, regardless of the consequences, we'd be in even a worse state as a country than we already are.

THIS is the biggest problem is that people are NOT standing up. Like I just mentioned, more people are going maskless as they are D.O.N.E. Nothing they say anymore makes sense. None of this is working as you had masked, triple vaccinated people getting sick for weeks.

I'm very happy to read that you were upfront and honest with your child. I can't tell you how many people I know who didn't tell their kid, as well as the sheer volume of people in my community FB group posting about how their child was crying hysterically on Wednesday because they didn't understand why the mask had to go back on.

My kids are well aware that the masks are complete and total BS. They know they are wearing it for no reason. They do not wear it anywhere else but school. Counting down the days until we move out of this hell hole.

Can you just imagine that other states are back to normal?
Kids are maskless, no quarantines, no remote bullshitt.
The world continues to spin and life goes on...
And here we are....still living like it's 2020. Our kids bearing the brunt of not having a normal school experience...it's truly mind boggling.

My DH actually gets triggered seeing her in a mask. If she gets off the bus and forgets to take it off he yells at her to take that ridiculous mask off. It bothers him to see her in it and to be honest, it bothers me to see any child in a mask too. It's creepy asf

Following the sc ruling?!? She was the one that started this whole thing! She knew she had this in the bag and got exactly what she was planning for.

Of course it can be traumatic but more than blaming parents, I blame those in power that should know better by now but for reasons other than the actual well being of the people, decided to act in a totalitarian way, and the fact that not one Democrat has stood up against this tyrannical witch is mind blowing!

Imagine.... and they are all surviving and not killing grandma. Funny as I said that line to my mother, in another, open state and she had no clue what I meant. Maybe because this is not shoved down their throats everyday.

It was granted a full stay until March when arguments will be heard.

But it expires now on 2/10 right?

This is all such a mess.

I believe that while the current one does technically expire on 2/10, Hochul said it would be evaluated every two weeks and could be extended for two weeks at a time. Chat Icon

She will continue to extend it to punish her bad bad subjects who DARED to take it to court.
Get ready for it to be here forever.
I don't care for me because I'm done complying- I'm not wearing a mask anywhere and nobody has said a word. But I just am annoyed about my daughter having to wear a muzzle at school al day

I did hear that but, I thought her powers were set to expire on the 15th or something anyway... which was the longest she could extend it to originally. So now with this stay, she can effectively legally extend it longer?

To be honest, I'm unsure of the legalities of it, so I couldn't say. It seems like no matter what happens, some way pops up for it to get extended unfortunately.

Many are not complying anymore like I have mentioned as enough is enough. If you don't see it is all power and control, with numbers that have dropped significantly, then you will never see it.

Probably.

I'm thinking a lot of it is nobody wants to take the risk as well - as has been evident through the entire pandemic

Have people really politicized their children to this?
That to me is so gross.
Children should not be doing the bidding of adults in this matter.
I don't think it's the flex one thinks it is...

It has nothing to do with politics. The cloth and even paper masks don't work. It's science and is being said all over now- even from the CDC.
I told my daughter the truth on the science. She asked why she has to wear a mask.
Politics has ZERO to do with it- except, of course, for the people trying like crazy to keep the kids masked- for example our Governor-that is the only politics here- and yes, it's not the flex one thinks it is.
And yes it is SO gross.

Of course it does. It's not even an argument that it doesn't. Cloth masks and surgical masks are less effective, as they have said from beginning. But with the PPE shortage in 2020, it was better than nothing. The masks that should be worn are the N95, K95 and KF94. Science supports that.

I have to kind of agree with this. I am all for making masks optional.
But I won’t let my kids fight this battle. They rarely ever complain about masks and it’s probably because I try my hardest not to say anything about it in front of them.

I am part of this Facebook group who are clearly over the top. They give horrible advice and advise parents to send their young kids in with no mask and to call the cops if they try to send them home. To me that is so wrong because you put your kids in a position they should not be put in!!

When I stated that I won’t have my kids fight my battles I was accused of allowing my children to be sacrificial lambsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

All because I refuse to be that dramatic about. Does it suck they have to wear them? yes!! But The over tops dramatics when it comes to it is also ridiculous.

Adults want to go and fight this I’m all for it go at it but when you bring your kids especially young ones into it and ask them to fight for it it’s wrong!

Clearly you didn't read the article I linked in the other post about mask mandates- science does not support it. The "science" isn't clear cut. In fact, there are indications that masks are causing more problems to children's development and mental health. But no one wants to talk about it because it ruins the narrative.

I'll link it again - they are manipulating data to fit the narrative for masks

A case against masks
