School start date?
Does anyone feel like school is starting so late this year? Our district starts 9/9.

School start date?
Our district starts September 1st. Then the have off for Labor Day, Rosh Hoshana, and Yom Kippur, so they don’t have a full week for a while. I like it because they’re easing into the year.

Same - I see no point of going for 3 days and having a 5 day weekend lol. I was hoping to go on vacation until Labor Day weekend.

My school starts before Labor Day on the 2nd which I think is stupid cause they got the 3rd then we are then off till the 9th!

We have a school near us starting on the 10th because in their contract - the teachers can't start working before Labor Day so they have to have a conference day on the 9th.
I'd rather start the 9th than the 1st and go into a 5 day weekend. Useless.

we're in NJ and don't start until 9/9... teachers have their first couple days next week. then school is closed for labor day and rosh hashanah then kids start on 9/9

We are in NYC and we start Sept 13!! Which is so late, but they said with Labor day and Rosh Hoshana, they couldn't do it earlier. But then, the first week we already have off on the 16th for Yom Kippur.
