We shopped there allllll the time!!! 
Technically my first paid job was babysitting, I had so many families and did really well. Then I worked in retail clothing stores, Le Sportif and Deb.

Delivering the Pennysaver at 12? Not sure if that counts.
After that it was Service Merchandise and a local bakery.

Maintenance at a couple of the Suffolk County Parks. Riding on the garbage truck and picking up picnic garbage cans, moving picnic tables, cleaning bathrooms, picking up garbage, clearing fallen trees, etc.
That shifted into working on the computer systems for the Suffolk County Park Police department, maintaining their brand-new computerized ticket database.
Even when I'm working in the middle of the woods, I manage to end up working with computers...

Of course I remember Caldor! lol!
My first job was a bagel store. I started at 5:00 AM.
ETA: I did do a little tutoring before that but the bagel store was my first real job.

I remember going there with my father as a kid. There was one on 347 in setauket not far from where kohls is now (used to be caldor)
