Post covid

Figured I’d give you guys an update on how things are going in post covid land.

It’s been 34 days from my first symptoms , 33 from testing positive.

I’m still coughing

have tightness in my back when I breathe deep,

taste and smell is 40% with some pops of about 70% here and there depending on what I’m eating.

Get tired easily and have to remind myself to slow down

COVID BRAIN FOG IS A THING. I thought fibro brain was bad. I cannot believe how hard it is to come up with a word, remember the day or finish a complete thought some days. I’m thinking that just goes with the fatigue.

I went back to the dr on Tuesday last week. He listened to my lungs, he said they sounded clear. My sinuses were very full and causing a bad post nasal drip so he gave me another zpack and 40mg of prednisone for 5 days to help with the. Possible inflammation I could have in my lungs. Even though they sounded good, can still have some inflammation left. Hoping these two meds can help me move this along. Zpack def helped my sinuses. But the steroid didn’t do much.

I’m going to give it another week or 2 and if I don’t see much improvement, I’m going to ask for a CT scan just to be 100% my lungs are looking ok. Covid pneumonia can cause scar tissue and chronic lung issues in some people. I’d like to get ahead of it and see a pulmonologist if I need to.

Dr said he has patients who are fine in a couple weeks. And some who suffer from after effects for months on end. Zero way to know where I’ll be in that.

Rollercoaster.

At least I tested positive for antibodies. Though news12 just came out with an article that antibodies to the common Covid 19 here in the US don’t seem to protect you from the new variants coming over soooooo there’s that. I’d live to at least recover fully before fighting again.

Post covid

My 77 year old mom had covid around Christmas and still has the brain fog issues. We can only pray it gets better but I read it can take 3-6 months. The long term symptoms are scary. Glad you are feeling better.

Thank you for the update. SIL is one month out. Original symptoms were flu like. She stil is suffering from fatigue, brain fog and while she has a sense of taste, it is not the same. That Brain fog seems to be one of the most common lingering symptom.

Re: Post covid

Thanks guys!

PS on the brain fog. DH asked me to remind him to take his contacts out before bed and put his glasses on.
As he was headed upstairs , I told him to put his seatbelt on when he gets up there Chat Icon W.T.F.

Re: Post covid

I am so sorry Phyllis. Of the people I know who have had covid and lived, they are saying it is taking at least six months to feel back to normal. Lay on your chest. Drink Gatorade. Take vitamin D supplements. Eat an anti inflammatory diet. Hugs
