Finally back to 155.0!!
My body went on another roller-coaster ride. I didn't freak out, this time... but I did stress a bit. Improvement, not perfection. I'll be in a better place, mentally, the next time it happens.
I'm 20 pounds from goal!!

2020 Accomplishments & Goals

153.6!
i'm chipping away at it, little-by-little.

since i'm short, i'd love to be 135. for me to cross from overweight to normal on the BMI chart, i would have to be 136.5. then i'll give myself a 5-10 pound range where i can be comfortable.

over a month later and i'm holding steady at 153.6.

i have done the following, though:

* i'm drinking a gallon of water a day
* i've put much more oomph into my morning workouts. i'm doing routines from Body Project on YouTube
* i'm up to 20 incline pushups before my morning coffee
* doing the thought-work to get my mind in a kinder place when thinking/talking to myself
* getting physical therapy for my funky hip pain

sadly, i keep forgetting to measure myself. but if i go by what other people say... i look like a "crack head" because i'm getting so skinny lol.

i'll call it a win.

152.2, today!!

my libra apps predicts that i'll reach my goal weight by the middle of january.

even if i miss the mark, i am very happy with myself and the way i'm losing the weight.

It is definitely a win. Seems like you are firing on all cylinders - physical and mental! Keep it up.

Q3 update....

1. Weight wise I am up 9 pounds from my goal. Not freaking out about it.

2. Back to walking normally. Achillies and shoulder are better, since I had a long recovery period for it to all rest. Unfortunately, fell down during a hike last week and my plantar fasciatis has been flaring in my right foot since I just cant get my orthotic correct. Bought a pair of new sneakers and will try without the orthotic. It will either be a major win and I will open my world up to a whole new set of shoes, or I'll be bleeped and hurt it more than it hurts now.

3. First round of skin removal surgery is done. 7 pounds of skin removed, which equates to about 7 feet of incisions and 100 square inches of surface area. Chat Icon Recovery was interesting, but 8 weeks later I feel good. For the past 2 months I've had to double my protein, hence my weight increase in item 1. I've only started recently going back to my normal protein levels so I'm sure that will work itself out. At one point I was up 17 pounds so only up by 9 is pretty good. I'm also still swollen, so I'm sure I'm holding onto water and therefore pounds that way. Dr said don't weigh myself for months but I"m doing so anyway just to keep myself in check. Considering my arm skin removal surgery is only 6 weeks away, I'll have to get back on the higher protein levels in another month and for a few months after that. So I feel like I wont be getting myself back to 'normal' until 2021.

Today is my last weigh in for Q2 - July upcoming!

1. Weight wise I am right where I should/want be. I am maintaining 160 with a 5 pound swing.

2. Exercise is ok. No gym obviously. Trying too walk 2 miles daily, but also hurt my achillies again so I am working thru that. Gave up on the couch to 5k without starting because if I can't walk without hurting my achillies there is no way I will be able to run. Also jacked up my shoulder from working from home in a bad position, so that has been difficult to work thru.

3. Not surprisingly, skin removal surgery was postponed. New date is end of July, that was his first available. Also put down deposit for arm skin removal in Nov since that also causes me pain.

I've increased calories from 1200 to 1300 then 1500. In theory I should be around 1800 for surgery with high protein. Struggling with this a bit mentally but I'll work thru it.

Today is my last weigh in for Q1 - cant believe it's almost April.

1. I made goal at the beginning of this month! I am currently down 204 pounds. Chat Icon I lost 4 more pounds over goal!

2. Thumbs up on exercise 5x a week. More walking, less gym - some sessions are shorter than they would be than if I was in the gym, but that's OK!

3. Surgery is not cancelled - yet. Its in another state and not at a hospital, so maybe? Unknown at this point, 5 1/2 weeks to go, will take it as it comes.

Since I hit goal, I'm currently working on trying to figure out maintenance. I had a BMR test and they said my maintenance calories should be around 1600, but its not perfect. So I'm adding in 100 calories more every day for 2 weeks and reassessing what my weight did for those 2 weeks. In theory then I'll slowly figure out what my daily intake should be around.

My 2020 goals:

1. Maintain my 195 pound loss and lose the last 5 before skin removal surgery!
2. Continue exercising/being active at least 5x a week
3. Making it thru the skin removal surgery with minimal impact to my new lifestyle (ie. dont go crazy with food and restarting physical activities after I'm cleared to go back.)

Im finally down in the 30's after 5 years lol. Currently 138 and my target weight is 110-115. Since January, I am down 15-17ish lbs. I was around 155. Chat Icon

Yeah I'm sure I'll be back to normal next year. I'll be better next year! Just plugging away now, waiting for time to pass.

2021 Post surgery world will be great for both of us! Chat Icon The pain is only temporary, I just have to keep that as a mantra!

Thank you! I agree, this time around I’m not setting aggressive goals or making myself neurotic. I’m trying to lose and if it’s a bad week or month, the least I want to do is maintain. Lol. If I know I’m going to have a bad week or weekend of eating, I try to keep my workouts in or at least walk around my neighborhood.

I think the walks have been super beneficial in the weight loss process. I can thanks the pandemic for that because we would never just go out for walks before Covid.

woo hoo! such great news/progress all around.

the pattern i'm using as my goal is between 0.5 to 1.0 pound lost per week. i believe that's a nice healthy pace for how close i am to goal.

as i've shared before, i follow Corinne Crabtree and her philosophy is to "lose it like you'll live it," so my plan includes the occasional brownie and knowing there will be family functions, holidays, menstrual cycles when i'll want to eat all the things.

yay for us. making healthy choices that will get us to our goals.

It is sad (?) to say, but COVID has helped in the activity level for me and my family. We are much more active now than we were before. Less time commuting means more time for exercise. Certain activities not being open means more hiking, more time for experimenting with healthy recipes, etc.

I was thinking the other day when I finally do have to go back to the office and see people, there are going to be 2 groups. The people who took this period of time and lost 20 pounds and the people that gained 50.

yes!

i'm a little curious to see which of my relatives (i've only seen one household this entire calendar year) are chubbier and which ones are buff.

and yes, about this pandemic giving us more time for some things. at first, i gave in to sitting on the couch, feeling scared, and eating everything that wasn't nailed down. i gained some weight. i'm not sure what shook me out of it, but i'm eternally grateful.

my weight has gone up and down a bit, lately.

as i shared in the families helping families board, perimenopause has been rough for the last couple of months.

but i am happy to announce that i will be having skin removal surgery, next year.

sounds like progress, to me.

my countdown is at 84 days!

also, i signed up for a little "biggest loser" challenge at work... to light a fire under my azz for the final push!

although people have told me that i look smaller, my weight has gone up a few lbs, lately. as of this morning, i'm at 154.2. i'm not counting it as a negative, but i want to be in the 140s by the time i go under the knife.

looks like i'm going to live and die in the 150s lol

i gained a little in november. now i'm back down
today's weight is 153.4. oy.

at least i stopped the upward momentum that november brought.

i'm currently trying to get as low as i can by my surgery date. i'm not afraid to say it... i am dieting and not living a healthy lifestyle. i know this is temporary.
i'm doing intermittent fasting. it's worked before and it's working again. i'm officially down 5.8 pounds since i started.

i know that next week will be a bit wonky with a small party at work and christmas eve at home, but i believe i can stick with it until i'm put on the pre-op diet in february.

how are all of your wrapping up 2020??

Bleh. Up 12 pounds from goal weight.
But, dealing with recovering from 2 large surgeries. Bereavement depression. Plastic surgery depression. Covid depression. Seasonal depression. Mid-life depression. Normal depression.

Part of me is thinking I'm lucky I'm only up 10 pounds. Then again there are 2 more weeks to go this year.

I lost a lot at the beginning of my cancer diagnosis, but I'm back up 13 pounds from my lowest weight. I could blame it on the steroids, but honestly, I lost all the weight b/c I cut out sugar and was eating healthy. Food tastes awful now (b/c of the chemo) and really just sugary stuff tastes like something other than cardboard. But I know I need to rein it in so that my body can remain as healthy as can be while I'm dealing with the chemo and its effects.
