Yesterday was a junky day.

Some issues at work where I was made the scapegoat for someone else's mistake. I was very upset to hear this but my boss has my back so I guess it will be okay in the end.

I was blamed for something that I did not do and it really upset me that negative things were said about me behind my back without being able to defend myself. I am glad my boss brought this to my attention and I was able to explain my side of the story.

Some good news- remember the gross brown spots that dried on my patio cushions after I washed them? Well the rain washed the spots away! YAy! LOL Saved me money because yesterday I had 6 new patio cushions in my Walmart online shopping cart. Good thing I did not "check out."

After my bad day at work I went to Homegoods to take my mind off things. I ended up buying some beautiful new silverware in a modern pattern to replace my mismatched set that I have been hating for the past 3 years. Am I a geek for the fact that I can not wait to wash them in the dishwasher and use them? Yes I am a geek!

I also bought a nice lamp for the sidetable in my guest bedroom. It really finished the look of the room.

Homegoods has some beautiful things..I feel like I can wander hours in there..alone..just looking at stuff, thinking about it in my home then putting it back on the shelf. It is weird, but it is like therapy for me.

I came home in a good mood from my purchses and I cooked up these pre-marinated boneless pork chops that I bought in a package. DH loved them! The night before I had leftover garlic and oil couscous from Near East, so I added to the cold leftovers some chopped mint , lemon rind, olive oil and salt and pepper..sort of a modified taboule salad. It was delicious as a side dish cold.

Unfortunately, I was up all night thinking about work and I lost myself 3 hours of needed sleep so today I feel like a walking zombie. I am already anticipating going home to my bed, and its not even lunch time!!

Enjoy your day..thanks for reading.

Well, another lovely Monday is here. Gosh that weekend flew by..as it usually does...unfortunately it was a weekend where some annoying things happened to me.

Annoying thing 1 - While enjoying a cozy italian meal with our two dearest friends in Westport, we came home to a lovely flooded basement. So, instead of getting comfy on the couch, we got comfy with the mop, 2 shop vacs and a ton of towels.

Annoying thing 2 - Sunday I awoke to a warm, beautiful day, so I figured, why not clean off the deck and wash off the patio cushions. I decide to use Tide powder mixed with water and i scrubbed those patio cushions with all of my might. They looked spotless! I was bragging to dh about my work and how I am the best wife ever...fast forward to 3 hours of them drying....a lovely HUGE brown circle formed on each cushion. I dont even want to describe what it looked like.....nonetheless my cushions look so disgusting...they are clean, but LOOK dirty. :(

Annoying thing 3 - After the cushion debachle, we decide to enjoy the balance of the afternoon by basking in the sun at our local beach. After 3 hours we decide its time to go home. DH and I packed the trunk of the car and what else did I pack? My KEYS.
DH thank goodness had his cell phone, we called 411 for a cab and cabbed it home. Thank goodness for the cash I had left at home and also the fact we were airing out the basement so I was able to get in the house to get money to pay the cab.

Phew - I am kind of glad that weekend is over and as I type this, I realize that my dreded Monday is almost over...less than 3 hours left, then I got to play my first volleyball league game of the season, which I am really looking forward to, then will finish the night off withsome new espisodes of my favorite shows, whilst snuggling on the couch with DH.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy the rest of YOUR Monday!

In case you all were losing sleep over my hair decision- I decided to go for blonde all the way, and I had a ton of hilights added to my hair. My husband was thrilled- he loves my blonde hair. That makes me happy!

About the hilights- my stylist goes by the name Linda...as per the salon website with her picture...so I have always been calling her Linda. She just got engaged and she does a nice job on my hair so I figured maybe I would send her a small gift off her registry, to show my aprpeciation.

I did not have Linda's last name, but we were joking about her Fiance's last name being funny to pronounce, so I looked up his name on Wedding Channel and I see he is marrying a Nicole! On the same month, no less.

Why would my stylist lie about her name? Especially after we were joking about how funny Linda ******* sounded -and she laughed along and still did not correct me! That's it- no gift for her!

On to other things....this weekend is looking like a total washout, so I guess I will have to do what I usually do when its raining- shop. Oh I will also need to get my "talons" done - as my husband calls them. They look terrible and I am in desperate need of a mani/pedi.

Enjoy the weekend!

This is interesting, I wonder if I will keep it up.

Today I am pondering very deep, intellectual thoughts:

Deep thought #1 - Was the Coffee Flavored frozen yogurt from the sundries shop in my building better than my usual french vanilla?

Deep thought #2 - Shall I add more blonde hilights to my hair? Or should I continue with my dark blonde/light brown color?

Deep Thought #3 - My nails look horrible, I need to break off the Pork recession and get my nails did
