In my house almost everything is on a timer. From our alarm clock to our coffee maker, lights and just about anything and everything we can hook up to one of these nifty little “automatic” devices.

So, why not a timer telling you to “slow down” and take time out for a little R & R (Rest and Romance).

Too late, it’s already been done, well, sort of.

Via Japanese technology, a new mobile phone will sound off signaling want-to-be moms when they are most fertile and when’s the best time for making whoopee.

By simply entering data about menstruation dates, the user can program the phone to notify her three days prior to ovulation and again of the day “of” ovulation. But, the company cautions that the calculations are based on average cycles.

The new phone is the result of the average number of children born by women declining to an all-time low in 2005 and generating concern about the nation’s population.

It was the creation of a female designer who also created its look.

In addition, the handset offers various other functions designed to appeal to women and include items such as a recipe database and a button on the side that triggers a “camouflage melody” allowing the user to avoid unwanted attention by pretending to receive a call.
