A Message about Parents "R" Talking, Inc. from
Dr. Rubin of Happy and Healthy Pediatrics, Mineola, NY
As soon as we become parents, the first thing we think of, is how, is it possible to love another creature so much. The second thing is we hope we don’t screw this up! Being a parent is scary. We all want to do the right thing. In medical school, I learned the mechanics of pediatrics. And as a physician, I am very confident in how I guide parents. But being a great parent, and creating happy and healthy children, requires more guidance than I have the training to give. The parental advice I offer is based on the books I’ve read, the research I’ve done, and the “on my feet” training as a mother. That is why I have invited Rebecca of Parents “R” Talking into my space at Happy and Healthy Pediatrics. I want to be able to offer all of my patients complete guidance on the path of parenthood. As my children have gotten older, I have faced moments of challenge and insecurity concerning whether or not I was doing the right thing as a parent. My husband and I have met with Rebecca and we have gotten so much out of her workshops. She led us to think about the way we parent, and how we need to alter our style of parenting based on the difference between our daughter’s temperaments. I am also so grateful for all of the other instructors and health care workers Rebecca has orchestrated into our wellness center. To be able to offer acupuncture, massage therapy, baby massage, CPR classes, support groups, etc. is in an effort to provide complete parenting support and advice. Parents “R” Talking workshops take place next door to Happy and Healthy Pediatrics. Together we hope to welcome a new generation of happy and healthy children.
