OMG this is more interesting than Depp case. A women is accused of killing her husband who was also her stepfather.

while he lay bleeding out in front of her she was on a dating site looking for a date.

She called police 11 hours after his death.

so interesting.

If ever I was on trial for anything, I would never want it televised.

Anyone watching this

Not that I am worried about this for myself, but here this type of stuff is against privacy laws, and it is prohibited to air court cases. You can also opt out of Google Earth (most addresses are blurred out), so there you go.

I wouldn't want it for myself either however most court cases in the US are a matter of public record so I can understand why it wouldn't be a privacy issue.

But the accused hasn’t been proven guilty. If they are found innocent, it can affect the rest of their life.

They protect convicted as well (I’m actually not sure of the law exactly) from what I understand.

Things can’t be filmed here much. This goes with court cases not being filmed due to privacy reasons. This goes with the last part of hmm’s post, which I quoted.

Court cases shouldn’t be televised. Full stop.

I guess it all depends on the court cases as not everything is televised over here also. I just don't get the Google Earth reference.

Whether they are guilty or not most criminal court cases are a matter of public record so it doesn't make that much of a difference if you can read it or watch it on tv. Frankly, once a person is charged with a crime here, if it is high profile, they are all over the press as if they ARE guilty. Does Germany do anything to limit the press coverage in criminal cases before the person is found guilty? If you ask me that's way worse than having the actual case televised. And the worst part is that the media doesn't always protray the facts or correct misinformation that has previously been published/aired.

From what I understand, they do limit the court cases when found guilty. The crimes here, like this court case, don’t make big news. The strange cases make news (think Josef Fritzl, but he was Austrian, so who knows) here.

Then again the crime that makes news here are really strange cases. I think I remember a murder case which the victim advertised he wanted to be killed and eaten afterwards. The courts couldn’t prove that because of private video, which does not count in courts here. But my memory is really foggy on that one.

His photo is public. Like I said, I am not totally sure of the laws regarding conviction and photos.

So it takes a lot for photos like that to be published.

Such a strange case. The mom died of cancer in 1999 and the father "fell in love" with the daughter and they got married. Oy.
